This basic tap shoe from Capezio is a must-have for beginners. The Fluid features a textured grip pad on the sole, a lace-up design that keeps a custom fit, and a microfiber lining for moisture absorbance. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Order one size larger
These shoes run small. Love the try before you buy option. I wear a 9 but that was too tight. 10 is perfect.

It’ll do
These shoes do the work I need it to for tap. Not the best quality, but it’s better than the very cheap shoes you find on here. I definitely love my Bloch tap shoes better, but these aren’t terrible.

Perfect Beginner Shoe Runs Small
After reading the reviews, I ordered this shoe in a 10.5 W. I wear a ladies 9.5 New Balance sneaker. The shoe fits length-wise perfectly. The thing you need to know about this shoe is that it fits like a dress shoe, so the width and feel are like wearing a low heel. When you dance in these shoes, it's like dancing in dress shoes. They are not the most comfortable shoes by far, and there's not much in the way of foot support. They don't hurt my feet at all.Basically, they feel just as they should given a middle-aged, fat woman just crammed her swollen feet into them. That being said, the shoe is a good enough quality for a beginner, and they are made quite well.I bought these for clogging, so I was able to easily replace the Capezio Tele Tone taps with Steven's Stompers which I glued on with Shoe Goo. They are my new workout plan.Much more fun than say, yoga. The shoes sound great. They look nice with jeans. I'm pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy them again.

Too small, but probably because I received the wrong size
I wear a size 12M in womens street shoes, so I ordered a 12.5W knowing that these would be a little snug based on the reviews. These were still at least a size too small, even after sizing up. Upon closer inspection I noticed the shoe is marked 11 M on the inside. Not sure if this is supposed to indicate 11 Mens or 11 medium width. My guess is that it’s an 11 (medium width) in womens size, because that’s what it fits like.

Geriatric beginner tap
Now I’m Medicare age I decided to learn tap. So far the shoes work perfectly but the ankles don’t. Will be a test of endurance

Quality isn’t great
I wore them for 1 dance class and the foam in the bottom between the steel toe and heel peeled away, I had to super glue them as that weekend I was doing 2 minute dance in a show and it was too short notice to get another pair. Safe to say I sent them back immediately after.

Tap shoes
So pleased with these tap shoes. I initially got a size 6 but they were a little snug . I was able to exchange them so quickly and easily and I’m now over the moon with my purchase.Would highly recommend.

Seem comfortable but overall not a well-made shoe
This is a very basic tap shoe made of synthetic material that doesn't really breath all that well. The rear of the shoe rolls when you try and slip it on your foot and even after walking around in them (not even tapping) for an hour, the shoe shows signs of creasing and wear - I doubt they will last that long. Unfortunately this item is not returnable - I wish I had known that - so I am stuck with them. While they appear to be fairly comfortable, I can't recommend them due to construction and overall quality.

Not really Wide fit
This shoe seems just medium or average fit, although it was supposed to be Wide. I have returned it.
