Yaktrax Walk Traction Cleats for Walking on Snow and Ice (1 Pair)

I bought these traction cleats to be able to navigate after an ice storm that made walking and driving treacherous for several days. They provided great security in conditions in which deeply lugged hiking shoes and boots were useless. They slip on and off easily but do not slip off during walking.My only caveat would be: Don't inadvertently wear these indoors on any form of carpeted floor. The wire coils can catch on rug fibers and be pulled loose or broken. If you put them on and remove them at the door, they work great for their intended purpose.

I'm from the Midwest United States and Quebec's snow is nothing like ours. It's dry and powdery almost like sand, and the winter boots I've been using for years were NOT cutting it here. My boots were plenty warm, but the soles were making me slip, slide and almost fall every other step. I was looking for something reasonably priced that might be able to get me through my first real Canadian winter because I walk everywhere, and don't want to break an ankle or something falling all the time. These were that something. I'm not slipping or sliding at all anymore, even when the people I'm with are. I can comfortably walk at a brisk pace, and have even had to run a few times in these.While I can walk on bare sidewalks with them on it's not recommended and may cause extra wear on them. I haven't noticed any on my pair from it yet. I do have to take them off when I go into stores (I wouldn't want to wear them inside anyway) but it's not an issue since they're very easy to quickly take off and put on. I put them in a platic bag and put them in my backpack while in the store.For what these are, they're amazing and very reasonably priced. If something happened to my pair tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate a second in buying more. I would recommend them to anyone who has issues with slipping or knows someone who does.
