Q: Is the programming of this keypad exclusively for it, or will it change what your actual keyboard does?

The remapping program interacts exclusively with the micro-controller unit (MCU) in the Koolertron keyboard and saves any changes you make to a profile in the keyboard firmware. You are not modifying any local system settings in your PC so it will not effect any other keyboard on your system. I have 3 other keyboards plugged in to my computer and they all work just fine still.

Q: How do I set this keyboard up on a mac to assign commands to it? I followed the directions above but don't know how to make it function.

Apple computer and Linux users need to set the keyboard under the Windows 7/8/10. Once set, it will be stored in the keyboard's MCU, and then get the keyboard to use under Apple computer/Linux
