Excellent replacement
Suitable, high quality replacement for a 20yr old transformer that failed after all those years of use. Hopefully this product has the same longevity.

Fast delivery.
The step down transformer went out in the bathroom cabinet. I was able to splice in this one for the old one, and use the original electrical hookup connector for the four halogen light fixtures. The cabinet manufacturer said they didn't use this brand anymore, but would get back to me if they could get the whole transformer and connector unit. Never heard back of course. None of the new halogen light kits at the hardware stores used a same sized opening to mount the new individual lights, either smaller or larger which I didn't want to hassle with. This worked out great. I just snipped the wire between the transformer and the halogen lighting connector, spliced in the new transformer matching appropriate wires, and works like a charm. Hope it lasts the 15 years the old one did.

It worked,

Amax is a bad manufacturer based on this record
Bought 2 models from the same manufacturer. Both were garbage. Produced no voltage, and are still holding up the job.

died within two weeks, or did it?
I had to come back and edit my original review.I thought my transformer died within a couple of weeks. Maybe it did, maybe it did not. After the transformer stopped working. I initiated a replacement, it was shipped immediately and was received within couple of days. So 5 stars for the whole return/replacement process. I shipped the damaged one back, using the prepaid shipping label, and did not get around to installing the new one until a couple of days later.Once installed, it started to behave just like the one that had died; buzzing and pulsating between very bright and very dim, then it would die for a little while. I started tugging and pushing on the track and immediately realized I had a short in the fixture that transfers the power from transformer to the track. That was an easy fix, and it (the replacement) has been working ever since. So I am not sure it the original died after two weeks or if it was a short that finely did it in. It is also possible that it did die and I just jacked up the fixture from taking it apart three times in short succession to replace the transformer.Original ReviewEasy to install. But within 2 weeks it started making a buzzing noise and then the light started pulsating between bright and dim now I need to see if I can return it and get a replacement.

If you need 1, Order 2.
I, like a few others, received a dud when it was delivered. Since it is the only manufacturer/uni available anywhere, I ordered up 2 more. One of those worked fine and I am returning the other. Seems to work just fine but I can't speak to the longevity yet.My advice: If you need one of these, order two to be safe. If it works, return the other. Unless you have time to order another if your first is a dud.

Still kicking :)
I thought this failed after 3 years of use, ordered a replacement, and discovered the replacement also did not work … because it was a wiring problem. 🤦🏻 Fixed the wiring and the power supply still works fine.

Excellent and very affordable. If you test: observe the instructions!
Excellent product and very affordable. Arrived promptly with detailed descriptions for testing. I used it for replacement in an IKEA lamp. This item was nearly the same size as the original Anchorn AET-D1051 but has a rated power of 150 W aot 105 W for the AET-D1051 (which burnt out due to overload). I had to cut out small pieces out of the alumimum envelope in the lamp controller because the wires stick out of the long ends.If you want to test before you operate in the eventual mount-Measure WHILE THE ITEM IS LOADED (powers a lamp)-Use a digital multimeter set at AC mode.-Ignore the voltage readout; it is affected by the power control electronics.
