Floribunda: A Flower Coloring Book

Another treasure found! Advanced colorists look!
Subject Matter: 5/5If you consider yourself as advanced colorist, sick and tired of paisleys&mandalas this is the book you should try. Lineart is detailed, beautiful and not too overwhelming no patterns or mandala fillers either, all gorgeous flower art. And the book is nice and BIG!Paper: 5/5Single-side printed pages, thick watercolor paper and easy to tear out each page - love love love! This book will work with all colored pencils, markers and watercolor. Personally I don't know if artists have any say in paper quality but I sure hope they do catch on this. It is very annoying to see books with gorgeous art, only with meh paper. I am willing for pay for quality.Coloring Medium: 5/5This book is intended for heavy materials like watercolor or markers. While markers still might shadow(but not bleed) to the back side it takes both marker inks and watercolors very well. The pages are not perforated but is easy to tear out each page, so you shouldn't have to worry about something bleeding through.Total: 5/5There should be more books like this format. I left a similar review for Jade Gedeon and I strongly feel that there should be more books like this. I am tired of being limited by poor paper quality or having to give up what I like to color with, by the way the book is printed(single/double side printing thus limiting markers etc). While this is one of higher priced books it is definitely worth it, but may be not right for beginners.

For The Experienced Artist: This Coloring Book Is EVERYTHING You're Looking for, Just Get It :)
Let's begin by stating that I rarely leave reviews. I'm not sure why, I usually feel that someone else has already said what needs to be said. I have recently re-declared myself an artist after a brief hiatus (that felt like forever). Primarily, I silversmith, draw and take photographs. I was searching far and wide for an intricate coloring book (or book of any kind really) that provided high quality floral line drawings in a modern style. I ordered another "adult coloring book" but it was so-so, and made it abundantly clear that Floribunda is in a category all of its own. This book is EVERYTHING I yearned for artistically! There is a connective thread with old scientific botanical drawings with a sophisticated art-nouveau twist. The dimensions are about 15" by 10", the paper is heavyweight cardstock and single-sided, perfect for framing or perhaps even enlarging/reproducing your prints and using them for party invitations, posters, weddings, textiles? Leila really thinks about everything. My first "coloring" took me 12 hours to complete, but the results were phenomenal. I used pencil crayons, but I think you could just as well use paint given the quality of the paper (which I may try next!). I think this book would even serve as a perfect template for tattoo designs for those looking for floral line drawings. This is an incredibly rare find, and I'm so glad I took a leap of faith and ordered it. It has exceeded all my expectations. I would imagine that this isn't the best "beginner" book given the level of detail and amount of time it takes to complete each drawing, but it could also be a fun challenge for those looking to push themselves.

LOVE...LOVE ....LOVE THIS BOOK!
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! I have colored so many books and this is without hesitation is my favorite book ever! Those of you who colour will understand what a great book this is when I stated that I have colored EVER page but one and I plan on coloring all of them. I will going to order another one because I have had so much fun coloring the first one. Each illustration has a list of the flowers and after researching via Google and Pintrist I am completely absorbed with the challenge. The compositions are fabulous. The paper is perfect heavy enough for any medium. I was able to use brush markers, watercolor pencils, gel pens and colored pencils with blending solution. Each page is one sided and easily pulls out of the bindings. I love that they can be pulled out of the book because I can work with it so much easier than the permanent bound books. If you are looking for a book that you are proud of the end result this is a great one. If you are wanting to learn more about flowers and strengthen your coloring skills this is the book for you.

Perfect coloring book!
This is by far the most beautiful and well made book I have found to color in! I'm so in love with the botanicals and the quality of paper! The artist, Leila Duly is very talented at realism and detail. This book is not for the faint of heart. It's an intricate and complex book to color. I've used watercolor pencils on my drawing below and I loved how well they performed on the thick high quality paper. Watercolors would work beautifully with the paper as well as markers with no bleeding through. Each design is on one side and the finished pages are beautiful enough to be framed! I highly recommend this book but if you are looking for an easy coloring project this is not your book. If you like intricate realism and botanicals this is for you! Please buy this book. I wish more books came with this quality and format. I'm spoiled now and using lesser quality books has lost its charm for me.
