Perfect for a beginner
Very durable item. My son had some bad throws starting off, hitting pavement or something metal, the discus held up well.

Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But one problem
This is quite and extraordinary object. It's very smooth on the edges = better and comfortable throw. There is only one prob. if you are throw at/on anything harder than grass then you may get a splinter from the wood.

Falling In Love (Again) With the Discus
I threw the discus in high school and did fairly well with it. The college and Olympic discus was too big for me. But when I learned that a 1 kg. discus was used for my age group, I leaped at the opportunity. I'm having a blast! This Nelco discus is terrific. The metal assembly loosened a bit -- readily correctly with a 75 cent wrench. Highly recommended!

This discus is so attractive. It is competition weight so it can be used at meets. I just really like the way it looks and feels. It's not like the school's plastic or rubber ones, this one is top notch. I wouldn't throw it where there are rocks though as the wood will scratch or dent.

Great beginner discus. Definitely not a high spin high rim weight model. Very durable and weight stamped so it can be used for competition.
