Do these work with tplink pass throughs?

TP-Link pass throughs and TRENDnet Powerline AV 500 are from different companies. TRENDnet Powerline AV 500 has some security features, passwords, and settings that we use. Such security features are unlikely to be compatible, but the TP-LINK AV500 2-Port Powerline Adapter with AC Pass Through Starter Kit looks like the same device from the same factory. Mixing devices is taking a big risk they won't be compatible because of security features, or the chips inside the devices. A worst situation is when mixing the similar adapters they don't stop helping each other, and they have no security features to stop intruders in your network. Now, I feel fear that some other company sells a device that an intruder on the outside of my home can use to get into my network, because that similar device hacks my passwords quickly by plugging it into the outlet. If you buy all the same devices, and use the security software in each of your computers, then you will have the security nearly equal to real networking wires. Having extra devices purchased in advance helps with growing networking like we have. Nothing obsolete happens unless you move to gigabit speed at 1000 megabytes per second. These are only 500 megabytes per sec. We have learned that nothing on the Internet is a gigabyte speed at all unless it has fiber optic cable, so why get it?

Looking to extend internet to my garage from my house. Garage is tied into the same meter box on the house side of the meter approx. 150' away. Y/N?

In theory yes, in the real world testing is the only way to be sure about the speed it could maintain.

Will this product affect the wifi network to other devices?

Accepted Answer

No, not by my experience. (I had different model TRENDnet Powerline adapter.) OTOH: occasionally, high voltage appliances, such as microwave, can affect the bandwidth of the powerline adapters when they run. Connectivity was not lost, but throughput would occasionally be reduced when the appliance ran.

Can i use this with ip wireless surveillance camera (camera comes w/ethernet port)?

If the camera is wireless, then you need to connect it to your WiFi network. If it has an ethernet port, yes you should be able to connect it that way.
