Great way to prime brass.
I was having issues priming on my press so I went with the auto bench prime and a .223 shell holder and I went from wasting about 10% of my primers to absolutely zero problems, it has primed both 223 and 5.56 brass and they all are perfect. Once you get in a rhythm you can really crank them out. It actually saved me time because I don’t spent time resetting my on press priming system after I get a jam.Update, 1/14/19: after putting 1500 small rifle primers through it, I had exactly 2 primers that didn’t seat. Only thing I don’t like is the feeder sometimes doesn’t feed primers, I just have to tap the tray every couple of primers.Update 2/1/2019: I’ve now put somewhere in the neighborhood of 7500 primers through it in both 9mm and .224/5.56 and I’ve had a total of 7 wasted primers from a malfunction. I love this thing.

Another really good product from Lee Precision
Purchased this Lee Auto Bench Priming Tool just the other day and as of today, have primed 100 rounds of once-fired Hornady match grade brass. Hornady's match grade brass has crimped in primers and I had to remove the crimp from the primer pocket before reloading. This figures into my review.Overall, I really like this product so far. I've used a Lee Precision Auto Prime tool for years without so much as a hiccup. However, the joints at the base of my thumbs have become arthritic and painful. Hence, the purchase of this tool. The long priming lever on this tool provides one heck of a mechanical advantage, allowing for the seating of the primer with ease - very little pressure required. That's great for arthritic hands! The drawback, I suspect, is that when a person places too much pressure on that lever which gives so much mechanical advantage in seating a primer, the pressure created can cause the primer to detonate. I didn't experience this, but it makes sense. In the directions for use of this tool (yes, I actually read them) Lee Precision clearly states: "However, all types of FEDERAL BRAND LARGE PRIMERS frequently caused the entire tray to explode with sufficient force to cause serious and painful injuries." What the heck is up with that?Since I don't know what's up with that, I sent an email to Lee Precision asking them. I just sent it, so they haven't had time to respond. One thing I know about Lee Precision is that they're dedicated to customer satisfaction, so I'm certain they will respond. Now, I said I just primed 100 cases, and I used Federal Primers. I followed Lee's directions and fed each primer indivudually. Hence, the reason I gave this a four star rating instead of five. Feeding the primers one at a time is sort of a pain. But, I did so without any problem whatsoever.Given that the brass I was using had had crimped primers, even though I reamed the primer pockets, they were still tight. I could definitely feel a "bump" on the lever of the priming tool when most of the primers seated; often one "bump" and then a second when the primer was finally seated. I suspect with new brass, this won't be the issue. I think the primers will seat smoothly. However, I also believe the reloader will need to be careful to develop a "feel" for when the primer is seated so as to not apply too much pressure on the lever of this priming tool. If you do, I think it'll cause the primer to detonate.Hence, the warning about Federal primers. Why theirs and no-one else's, I have no idea. When Lee Precision provides an answer, I'll update this. For now, I think this is a really good tool with the caveat that the reloader has to use it with care as you do using any reloading process tool. This ia a tool to be used with finesse and brains, not just muscle and no thought....

You get MORE than you pay for.
I've read mixed reviews about these, especially compared to the RCBS bench primer. In my opinion, this is well worth the money....a bargain, even. You do have to bump the primer holder from time to time to make sure the primers feed, but the pathway is clear plastic, so you can see if they are feeding or not. I mainly use it for 38 and small primer 45 with Federal primers in tuned revolvers, that do not tolerate high primers. I have yet to have that problem. I can seat the primers all the way in the pocket very easily. (In the instructions, they do recommend against using the feed tray with large Federal primers, and only feed one primer at a time). This priming tool impressed me, and I am a RCBS guy. Hand priming sucks, but this one takes a lot of the pain (literally and figuratively) away from that chore. I would easily recommend this to anyone, especially for the price.

I have been reloading for a long time. Before I started using progressive presses I used to use hand priming tools. It was always incredibly tedious. The Auto Bench Priming tool was a huge time saver. I can crank out a hundred primed cases in just a few minutes. It feeds primers better than the ones on some of my progressives... The only thing I would like to note for future buyers is that you need to get the flat bottomed shell holders. You can't use the older shell holders that have the bottoms that fit into the rams. I don't recall that being documented anywhere so I thought I would mention it here.

Takes some time to get to work right.
I bought this because I have the Lee EZ Prime hand held priming tool and since I had about 600 30.06 cases to prep, that hand priming stuff sucks. So, I bought this to make things go faster and easier. For the money, this is worth it. Just be prepared to take up a whole lot of time to get used to using this. You can't be easy with the handle. You must push down on the lever and then let it kind of slap back up into position. If you ride the lever up, it will jam or you will have to tap a few times to get the next primer to fall down. Also, the primers only wanted to feed out of one side of the holder. To help with jams, I bent a paper clip that I keep with this priming tool.Overall, this is a pretty good tool, it just takes a while to get into a rhythm.

his is the best tool I have found to accurately and consistently seat primers Have primed at least 2K cases without a single issue A must have for any reloader Only issue is you need proprietary set of special shell holders which are reasonably priced Best money I have spent

Pressing time
I stupidly broke my original ine by being to heavy to heavy handed and you guessed it I was going on a range day 4 days later. This arrived within 2 days of ordering and I was able to finish my reloading in plenty of time. Not the most expensive one on the market but still does a great job.

Good, not perfect.
Used a Lee hand primer loader for years, prefer this though. Doesn't get five stars because the primers clog in the tray and don't feed consistently. Not much of an issue as you should be paying attention anyway. Easily corrected by flicking the tray. Shouldn't need to do it though. Don't let that put you off purchasing one as its a solid piece of kit with a good feel when seating the primer.

Good for people with weak grip
This works well but needs to be attached to the bench...either permanently or using clamps.I still tend to go back to my old Lee hand primer as it's just easier...you pick it up, prime cases then put it away..
