will the critters get wrecked if you put the babies in the tub with real water?

Yes. Calico critters are "flocked." Water will destroy the glue that adheres the flocking material to the figures. You will destroy the toy.

What's tje difference between the country bathroom and the deluxe bathroom sets?

I think the difference is Delux comes with shower curtain and a small chest and wall shelves that don't come with smaller set

Will it work with 4 inches doll?

It should work fine with 4" figures. The largest Critters are rabbits which are approximately 3.75" to the tops of their ears.

Does it come with a brush for them?

If you are looking for a comb type of brush then no. There is a long scrubbing sponge that you can pretend is a brush. It's on the floor next to the tub on the right hand side because it does come with a little loofah sponge you could use for the bath instead.

CUTE but multiple teeny tiny "losable" pieces

The set was lovely, SO CUTE & very detailed. A quality product with details thoroughly considered making very lifelike play possible. It is recommended for age 3+ which seems a bit young. As an adult I'm thrilled with the detail, as a parent I cringe.The details could be it's downside. There are many VERY teeny tiny pieces, ie. soap for tiny sink soap dish. The items are all clearly displayed on the box so isn't a surprise. I just hadn't expected/pictured such tiny separate pieces. (Which is likely an indication of a quality product)A parent warning about the tiny items would be helpful especially if you have other smaller children in the family. Lost pieces lead to frustrated play, and tiny pieces end up in all sorts of body openings in curious small children.
