My favorite Cd of Beth. She is a powerhouse without any doubt.Ever since Janis Joplin, I don't think there has been an artist with such power to drag you into their world like Beth does.Highly recommend this & if you never heard of her you'll become an instant fan after listening to this cd.Not a bad song in the whole cd.

The Voice of a Beautiful, Angry Angel. . . Stunning!
There are no proper adjectives in the English language to accurately describe the pure force of nature that is Beth Hart's voice. If you only know her from "L.A. Song" baby, you don't know nuthin' yet! Love and loss, pain and regret, sex, sin, desire, and dreams. . . the stuff all rock songs are about, but it's the VOICE that brings it all alive. It's Beth Hart's voice that will brand your soul with the white-hot purity of her emotions. In one breath she's a peaceful child, in the next she's a raging angel. From the first rollicking track "Run," to the tender longing of "Hold Me Through the Night" and the dirty intensity of "Burn Chile," to the nostalgic sweetness of "Summer's Gone," through the righteous blues of "Am I the One," and the simple sadness of "Blame the Moon," there is NOT one miss and it NEVER gets old. If you like rock, you will like this. If you like blues, you will like this. If you like cds that are true ALBUMS of music--vocally, thematically, lyrically, et al, you will like this. "Immortal" is a CD you MUST have. . . or regret it for the rest of your life!

Beth Hart's First CD as The Beth Hart Band
Released in 1996, this is Beth's first venture acknowledging herself as a powerhouse to be her own band. And after listening to the first notes of "Run", this proclamation is validated. Backed by amazing musicians, Beth's voice reveals a powerful rebirth of rock and blues that she owns outright. Immortal is a triumph of blues/rock at its best. If you close your eyes during "Am I the One", you can envision the legendary artists of the past which inspired Beth. And what a tribute Immortal it is to all of them.

Grows on 'ya
I first started listening to Beth Hart around the "Screaming for My Supper" era. It took me some time to come back to her early releases, but I've come to quite enjoy "Immortal". I don't think that the production, or her backing band at this time, were as good as what she enjoys now, but it's still worthy, and has some rockin' tracks. The live stuff off of the DVD "Live at Paradiso", however, shows you what these songs can do when Beth gives them the real, high-voltage treatment.

The best blues singer I've ever heard
The Immortal CD is one of my favorite Beth Hart CDs. You must listen to Isolation on the CD, better than Amy Winehouse's Rehab. Blame the Moon is one of Beth's best ballads. But please ! buy all her CDs.
