Anaerobic threadlockers cure in the presence of metal ions and the absence of air. The threadlocker material that comes in contact with the wood will have difficulty curing, so we don’t recommend it. However, if you choose to try the threadlocker anyway, we recommend that you first spray the wood bolt with adhesive primer, such as Vibra-Tite Excel Primer 611.

Q: is this safe for plastic?

No, it is not safe. it will damage most plastics except nylon.
