Absolutely Adorable and Educational
I bought this sweet little octopus for a colleague's baby (5 months) son. It is so colorful, soft and cuddly, and the educational components are both entertaining and soothing. It's simply adorable, and a great toy for a developing baby.

Keeps babies interested for longer than average.
Great for tummy time. Music is nice. Great to use to help babies track movement.

Great toy
Got this for my now 4 month old a little while ago. He seems to enjoy the cute face and songs it plays. Small enough to take places and soft enough to have in baby's car seat with them. Once he’s grabbing things I could see him enjoying interacting with the toy and learning colors. The toy has two sound volumes which is nice and the songs are very pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Super cute, soft & baby LOVES it!
My daughter loves Neptune (this octopus) as she has another Neptune toy and he’s also on the baby Einstein jumper she has. I personally love the newer model better, compared to the older one pictured in reviews this one is less creepy and more true to how Neptune looks on everything else. I also appreciate the songs it plays are different than the other baby Einstein toys as having all their toys playing the same songs gets old (especially when you hear them all day 😂), and you can choose the language (it plays one at a time) so you don’t have to go through all 3 at once (English, Spanish, and French)

Good, could be great. But good enough to buy an extra for grandparents house
I introduced it to my baby around 1 month. Baby is now 3 months now. Outside is a soft material but the music player/battery pack in the middle of the head makes for a very solid and heavy product. My son doesn't really play with the toy, at least not yet. Music 5/5 It plays 4 songs I don't get sick of. Very catchy rhythms that after 2 months I still enjoy and haven't gotten sick of. BIG PLUS! We play it during tummy time. Baby finds it relaxing so i don't have to constantly shake a rattle. Lie next to baby, One squeeze of the head, then I play use both hands to play with baby, $15 portable music player. i have an echo dot but this music is quicker and no need to filter. Volume is good. One review said its too soft. I'd argue that it may be too loud for a newborn-- Assuming it is designed to be hugged closed to the head/ear. for tummy time right now i never put it next to their head. Just off on the side or even on the couch is loud enough for the baby to hear. I would be comfortable wit it in the baby's lap or arms as long as not directly next to ear. Colors 2/5 Arms say the color that you push. Seems like a useless feature, except it cuts off the musuc and turns it off. Can be annoying if it is hit on accident. I wish there were unique settings other than 3 langauages. example. Instead of "blue", the blue cloud could say "Blue Cloud". Or replace with letters. The colored symbols are useless. Blue cloud, Purple grapes, Brown teddy bear. White Snowflake. Red cherries. Orange Flower. Yellow Star. Green Leaf. random symbols. PLayability - ?/5 Not sure yet. 3 month old hasn'ty engaged. Please excuse typos or lazy formatting. Typed with one hand while holding baby.

Soft and Plush, Appropriate For Under One-Year Old, Up To Four or Five, and a Fun Scholastic Teaching Tool
The Baby Einstein Octoplush was another birthday gift for my one-year grandson. It is a soft plush octopus and upon hugging or pressing the head, it plays pretty music. The velour legs have round colorful, satin patches designating a different color and a corresponding object, (red cherries, blue sky). Each leg will announce both the color and the object as each of the eight legs are lightly pressed, and the switch inside the battery compartment selects a different language, a choice of English, French, and Spanish. There are two sound volumes and an off switch, and for the adult, all the switches and power are easy to access within the closed compartment. My daughter-in-law states that she likes the Octoplush; the music is NOT too loud and actually enjoyable. This toy is professionally finished with nice even stitching, and no loose hanging threads. She was pleased that the Octoplush does NOT have the unpleasant smell of any fire retardant or other nasty odor. My grandson has had the Octoplush for four months and it is still one of his favorites, he understands the head plays music and it is very easy for him to him to press and operate. He holds the Octoplush and sways to the music in adorable dancing movements. This is a child-friendly educational toy, but due to my grandson’s young age, he does not intentionally use the language buttons on the legs. However, as he gets a little older, and understands more words, the Octoplush will provide some scholastic teaching as a fun learning tool.

Cute fun toy for mommy and baby.
I purchased this baby Einstein Octopus musical plush for my best friends baby. I personally think it's adorable and fits perfectly if you're theme for the baby is nautical. It speaks 3 languages with a switch on the battery pack and has a volume control on it which I think is an amazing feature to have. The Octopus plays multiple songs when you press its head and has press points on each tenticle to tell you which color they are pressing. My friend loves it as well. The baby hasn't arrived yet to give his feedback but I'm sure he will love it as well.

no on-off button!
This toy does not have on/off button and it needs a designated space for the night, otherwise if you are accidentally bump into it the party will start while baby is asleep

They freaking love it
My baby can't get enough of this thing. Every time we smash it's eyeball to play music, they immediately look for it with a smile. The music is engaging (enough that we don't mind it living rent free in our heads) and we like the fact that the colours are in both English and French. I'm pretty sure we're teaching our baby to poke people in the eye to hear music. Edit: looks like it died after approx. 10 months. The "blue" leg got stuck just saying blue over and over. Still a 5 star for us for how much they loved it, but be aware that it seems longevity isn't great. We got it with with the two items for a deal, so buying it again at $35 hurts, but I guess that's what parents do.
