ATN X-Sight II HD 5-20 Smart Day/Night Rifle Scope w/1080p Video, Ballistic Calculator, Rangefinder, WiFi, E-Compass, GPS, Barometer, IOS & Android Apps

I wanted to wait a month before review In order to give my best assessment of the product. Bullet points for the non readers PROS: - Best bang for your buck - Super easy to use for beginners - Can’t screw it up in daylight - more than a NV scope it’s also a automatic ballistics machine - ATN has top notch tech support and customer service CONS: (as always to be taken with a grain of salt) - Battery Life - Limited Range - Buttons leave some to be desired - No Eye relief (hold on to your gun and get your face in it.) - IR illuminator is ok at best. Now for the nitty gritty: First off this, this optics is 100% a 5 Star for me and this is why. For the price, this is hands down the best I could imagine. In most cases, you get what you pay for right? Not in this case. With this package at this price you’re getting way more than you pay for. What it comes with: -The Scope - The Visor tube - IR light - An awesome case - No mount needed - CR123 batteries In most cases you’d have to pay extra for that stuff. But it’s all included. Does it work? Short answer YES! If you’re expecting PVS-14 type clearity and range then expect to pay $5000 or more. But as an entry level NV this exceeds my expectations. I found the range to be pretty limited. Basically when I was out hunting in the brush, I’d be lucky to make out anything over 100 yrs. Honestly, that’s to be expected. Again keep in mind that this is entry level and you’re getting far beyond entry level quality. As far as under 100yrds, I had no issues. *Pro tip* Start in lowest magnification, get your focus then zoom. Speaking of zoom, the buttons on here are one of my only complaints. Trying to press these buttons that you have to mash down deep while under maginificstion or even while looking down the scope is rough. However ATN sells a remote that works pretty good and solves this problem. The other complaints: battery life yeah it sucks but all of them do! As anyone who has used NVS professionally and they’ll tell you they keep extra batteries at all times. I purchased the 4 (AA) battery mags, if you will, on amazon for $5 and they work great for quick changes. The other is the light. If it bothered you get another IR light for under $99. To wrap it up, this is a must buy if you’re looking. There is no learning curve, super easy to set up. It works it really works. In a month I have 2 Coyotes on it already. Great customer service if you have any questions. It can do a ton of things of which I didn’t even cover here. Seriously don’t waste your time on others this won’tet you down if you’re aware that this isn’t gen 3 and you’re not going to get Call Of Duty type performance. But the performance you do get far exceeded the price point. Oh and the case is bad a. No I was not paid by ATN for this review and yes I paid full price for this scope

This is an UPDATED review - my original was returned to manufacturer for repair and they were unable to repair the original. They replaced it with a new one. Received the replacement on November 11th - it is everything and plus as described. I now realize how defective the original was! On a full moon cloudy night it is 600 plus yards without the external light. I am very impressed with the replacement. I highly recommend this scope. I purchased ORIGINAL scope on June 13 and received it on June 17. Before writing a review I wanted to use it so I could give an accurate review. I wanted to purchase this scope because of all the positive reviews. First off there is no owner’s manual with the scope - had to go online to ATN website and print instructions. I also used You Tube videos for set up instructions. Mounted on a 223 bolt action which was a chore in itself to mount and I still do not have accurate eye relief because I cannot get the scope far enough back on a full rail. I had to remove the eye cup so I could see and I would suggest that the scope come with a longer eye cup. Scope eats double AA batteries like candy addict – you definitely need the battery pack with the scope. I ordered the battery pack and flashlight direct from ATN due to the shipping delay of 1 – 3 months on Amazon. Now the nuts and bolts of the scope – this is not my first night device. The scope is sluggish to focus after moving on both day and night. Forget the elevation and compass because they are both sluggish. Night and day vision is both excellent. I can easily recognize a coyote at night at a distance of around 400 yards. Anything above 14 power gets grain on day vision. All other functions except GPS and range elevation work great. After firing 30 rounds I started having a problem with losing power to the scope where the USB connects to the scope – I have to unplug and plug back in to restore the power. After changing cables the problem continues. I have reached out to ATN customer service about this problem on August 13th and as of this review – I have not heard back from them. The flashlight (infrared) that I purchased direct from ATN arrived with no charger for the rechargeable battery and I have had to go out and purchase the charge even though ATN told me they would send me a charger. I would recommend the scope but don’t feel I gained on the 20 power – knowing what I know now, I would order the 14 power and save myself the additional cost.

I mounted this scope on a RRA Elite Comp LAR-15. The night vision works great out to 100 yds and pretty well out to 200 yds, especially if you get eyes. I have the IR torch mounted on the side rail. (With a full moon, you can see fair with no IR assist). The one shot zero doesn't seem to work exactly as advertised, but I can get it as close as I can shoot in about 5-6 rounds. I am pleased with the scope. Pictures and videos are very cool. Now the cons. The scope does seem to "lock up" more often than it should BUT ONLY WHEN I leave the WiFi on. I do not use the ballistic calculator (almost all shots less than 200 yds due to terrain) so leaving all of the WiFi and GPS functions off is not a problem. The scope never locks up with those features off. Several reviews talk about the scope not holding zero. I mounted my scope and used loctite on the screws. I do try to re-zero every 2-3 months mainly to confirm the zero. It is usually off a tad when I re-zero (less than 1" off center at 75 yds, my zero), but I have to admit I tend to bang and clang the scope around, especially when I'm out in the pitch black at night so it might be as much my fault as the scopes. I do recommend the power pack and I can hunt all night on one charge easily. Without the power pack, it eats batteries like candy. Low batteries also add to the scope locking up. On batteries alone I seem to get about 1 1/2hrs with lithium. Don't try rechargeables, they only last about 10-15 minutes. I also read a lot about poor customer service. NOT AN ISSUE at all. I have had two dealings with service and both were excellent. Once, something in the mini-USB port came loose and the scope would not hold the power pack cord. After contacting them, I sent it in, they had it about 3 days and sent it back to me fine, no charge. Another time, I lost the rubber eye-piece and you really need that to see well. I could not find where to purchase one so I called customer service, explained my problem, and asked how I could purchase another. They sent me one free of charge. I have to give there service an A+. I am impressed with the ATN products. I also have a ThOR HD thermal scope and have similar luck with it.

The USB is for power only even with a option in the menu for USB access it dose nothing Micro SD card has to be taken out to get pictures off the usb will not do any card reading. The micro HDMI port disables the screen in the scope when connected Bluetooth 4.1 is not enabled in the firmware it is false advertising at this point till they activate it WIFI is only a access point for a apple or android to use the obsidian app to control the scope and do adjustments that cant be done with the scope on bored controls. when connected you also lose any internet on the device your using making the Smart HD Chanel in the app usless while connected to the x-sight 2. All in all this is a great scope though its more of a spendy prototype with future expandability like a Bluetooth rang finder and a Bluetooth remote but remember at time of this review Bluetooth is not a usable feature!! With one shot zero in and multiple profiles you can keep a zero on many rifle and move it around from you flavor of the month rifle. it has its bugs like the GPS locking up and some feature not adjustable with out the app but I would recommend this because it is fixable and firmware upgrades should fix this in the future. When you decide to buy this I have uploaded a video with the first thing you must do and that's update the firmware. I use this on a FNAR, DPMS G2 SASS, and on a Savage a17 with perfect zero

Battery life is terrable does not work good when shooting anything under 60 yard its too magnified even worse when your in the woods. Also you have to adjust the focus every time you go to look at something that's at a diff distance example you can focus in on the target at 50 yards but if you switch to a target at 100 yards it'll be blurry and you will have to adjust the focus. BATTERY LIFE IS TERRIBLE and this scope would look big mounted on a Barret 50 cal so keep that in mind if your purchasing this for an AR it will make the gun really heavy so start lifting weights or buy a bipod This scope is made of good quality so that's nice I'm not worried about breaking it will be best for someone who does a lot of field hunting or plinking at 100 + yards Night vision is pretty decent WITH THE ILLUMINATER pretty much non existent without the illuminater Buy a rechargeable illultimater Buy the external battery pack Or just save yourself some money and buy a decent NORMAL scope P.S I've had difficulty trying to get it to connect to my cell phone the ballistic calculater and range finder are impractical and almost never accurate I mean not even close Recoil activated video I still haven't seen that work It does take good video and pics so long as the focus is adjusted right

This is a great gadget to fulfill all of your "high tech redneck" needs! For around the price of a decent conventional/glass scope, you get capabilities for hunting at both day and night. The ballistics and zeroing technology are fantastic features, and I can set up profiles for every load I use. I no longer need to tote around my gopro, because the camera on this thing gets me close in to the action. The RAV is a nice touch for those that don't want to fiddle with starting/stopping recordings. Image quality simply isn't going to be as good as conventional scopes due to the digital zoom beyond 5x, but it is definitely good enough to show good detail on what you're shooting at up to at least 300 yards. Things start to get a bit pixellated beyond that, but my normal hunting range is 100-200 yards anyway. Field of view on this model is very good at this range as well, but for ranges below 100 yards I would probably recommend the 3x model. Night vision is incredible for this price point, and the IR light ATN includes now is more than powerful enough to get the job done at decent ranges. The quality of all the materials seem very durable. I mounted mine on a Ruger American Predator .308, and I did find it a better fit with a rail extension. I also picked up the ATN power pack kit, and I highly recommend it, or at least some sort of battery pack for extended use. Some people have reported problems while using the Obsidian app with the scope, but I have a moto z force with the newest android version and all of the functions work flawlessly.

Update: Still love this scope. With each software update the unit gets better. Now Blue Tooth is active and it tethers to the ATN Range Finder and the remote. My entire family loves using this scope. It has made it so much fun to share memories and hunts through the HD recordings. The night Vision is phenomenal easily see out to 300 yards with the factory IR. Bought this scope about 3 months ago and waited to write the review. I love this scope we have had more fun shooting at night whether it is hogs, varmints or just targets. If you are on the fence check out some of the support pages on facebook. I think one is something like ATN Smart Owners and ATN X-Sight HD Owners. Few comments and observations: 1. You need good Lithium ION batteries or USB Battery Pack (for phones and tablets), The best thing I have found so far are the Kentli rechargeable Li Ion AAs. (with standard Li Energizers i get about 4 hours, with my 20,000mah usb battery I have no clue. I have left the sight on for 6 hours straight and still had 60% left. With the Kentli's I do not know but I have hunted for 6 hours and they did not fully discharge.) 2. before you even start playing with the sight update the firm ware via ATN's site and then perform a factory restore. 3. play with the sight both night and day before taking it to the range and especially hunting. Like with any new technology there is a learning curve. If you have questions go to the above mentioned user groups, they are a wealth of info. 4. This is a hunting accessory. I would not recommend using this as your only or primary sight, especially if you are paying for a hunt or taking a hunting vacation. It is not a substitute for traditional glass. Being a computer and screen it may fail at times. If Murphy has anything to do with it you know it will be on a hunt. 5. If you do not have a dedicated rifle to mount it to look at the A.R.M.S #17 mount. this will allow you to sight the scope in. remove it and reattache it with out having to re-zero. You can switch between this and traditional glass in a matter of minutes.

This scope works well at night so far. I ended up getting an aftermarket illuminator and ATNs extended life battery pack. If you plan on using the scope for any amount of time you will absolutely need the battery pack. Things to know: If the main batteries die the scope will not work even if you have the USB battery pack. You will need to keep a spare set handy because if the 4 AA batteries die in the field you're down for the count. The updated firmware crippled the Obsidian app on the Iphone as best as i can tell. Video streaming, media library etc, worked before the firmware update but now nothing functions. This is using the latest firmware version V2.1.04.619 and updated iphone app. If this worked as advertised it would easily be a 4 star review. Weight- This thing is not for the faint of heart. With everything needed to make it functional (scope, illuminator, battery pack) you are going to add several pounds to your setup. Currently my setup has an A2 upper (has un-removable carrying handle) with picatinny rail adapter. This has two drawbacks. The scope by itself sits somewhat high, so when mounted on top of the handle a cheek weld is not really achievable. Second is that because it sits so high, if the rifle is not perfectly vertical it will be off balance and want to fall over. I knew this going into the purchase so I'm not faulting the scope, just something to keep in mind if you are looking at the scope. last is not so much about the scope but the battery pack. While its not technially required, you will need it. If you plan to put this on an AR platform the battery pouch will get in the way of the charging handle. My pouch is mounted upside down, with the battery on the left. Definitly not ideal, and surprised ATN did not make their case compatible with the AR platforms. Overall I'm still happy with the scope, and will be happy when the firmware bugs get ironed out.

Great looking scope.l have not put it on yet. The service to get it here was right on time. The reviews I have seen on you tube for this scope is the best. This scope does it all I would recommend.

Just as advertised, it was here in less than 48 hours as well!

The product came missing parts! The scope it’s self has started glitching out after only using it once. It has been updated with the latest software from the website and continues to have these issues. It readomly turns itself off and won’t turn back on for a day or so. It also has lots of wifi issues connecting and slowing the app to change any settings. The supplyer and manufacture I have tried to contacted multiple times and neither of them have replied to any of my messages. The scope is literally useless to me and the support services for both the Amazon supplier and atn itself are terrible. I would definitely recomend going with a different brand and supplier.
