Sony FE 2.0x Teleconverter, White, SEL20TC

This worked really well for what I was wanting. I have been able to get great closeups when I am out birding. I use this with my Sony FE 200-600mm lens and it gets good pics. Low lighting is not the best, but that could be said for that lens in general.

I purchased the new Sony 70-200 f2.8 GM II, an all purpose tele zoom lens with ultra fast auto focus driven by 4 linear motors, an innovative first design by Sony, amazing image quality when mounted on the Sony a7RIV with 61 MP resolution. But when it comes to doing bird photos, the amazing AF speed can keep up with birds in flight yet I found the maximum zoom to be a little on the short end. I do not want to consider buying a longer telephoto zoom lens with the added weight and cost, the Sony 2X tele converter is a perfect addition to convert my lens to 140-400 f5.6. I don't notice any decrease in AF speed and the image quality is sharp and vibrant except for less contrast and higher noise due to using high ISO. I use ON1 Photo Raw 2022 for image editing and using AI tone and AI noise reduction quickly bring image to perfection. The performance and weight saving, without carrying a 400mm telephone lens mades this 2X converter a must have accessory for birding photos, with bonus minimal added cost, I highly recommend the Sony 2X converter if you already have the Sony 70-200 f2.8 GM I or II.
