It was OK
It certainly took a strange approach. Instead of feeling like a traditional Sitcom reunion special, it felt like a made for TV movie. Now, this might sound weird. So, what I mean by this is that the plot and the cinematography are all off compared with the sitcom.Instead of feeling like watching a long episode of Growing Pains where everyone is back together again; it feels like watching 'this week's made for TV movie' that just so happened to have the Growing Pains cast and characters in it. The tone of the story is all wrong. It feels like a political drama that someone re-wrote to drop the Growing Pains characters in it. For long stretches at a time, it doesn't even feel like you're watching Growing Pains.Once in a while the characters will do something that feels authentic to their sitcom selves. It's like the writers remember all of a sudden, 'Oh right, we're writing a Growing Pains show.' But, these are scattered here and there. They feel more like tacked on late stage thoughts than being integrated into the script. So, instead of feeling like an episode of Growing Pains through and through. It feels like an entirely different project that once in a while remembers that it needs to pretend to feel like Growing Pains. All in all, it's not a bad movie per se. But, it certainly doesn't 'feel' like Growing Pains.

The Growing Pains Movie
The Growing Pains Movie is just another movie for me. When I was in my teens I use to watch, like, and even lust after some of the younger people on the show. The movies are now out on DVD and most of the younger people of the show are now married. The lust for these younger people is no longer there. Also there are some of the people from the show that didn't make it into the Growing pains Movies. Such as "Boner" and "Eddie". It would have been nice to have included them in the making of the two movies. Oh, well.

Growing Pains: The Movie
I remember watching this program when it was still being aired new. Miss this. Sadly I can not watch this on TV, all the good shows are gone and replaced with junk. This movie brings back the good times of the Seavers. Only let down is no [CC] Closed Captioning on it. Need it for anything I watch due to being deaf. But I use my headphone for that. I don't let that damper my enjoyment of this movie of a 'family' that most would love to know or have. Waited ages for this to come out on DVD since never saw it on TV when it was aired.

Great family feature
I remember when this was first aired and was very happy to see it released on dvd. It was great to see the original cast reprising their roles. It's just like the show never went off the air!!
