Does not contain step by step instructions
I would not recommend it. It is understandable that you can't make pictures or screen shots for every single described step but some kind of picture once in a while would give a visual understanding. I work with excel in German and I bought this book hoping that it would give me some step by step guidelines how to make this or that table, how to insert a chart and so on. It gives one paragraph about pivot table and a paragraphs about the chart. Every chapter has zero valuable information for me. Whenever I pick up this book to look up something on pivot tables, data and charts - I can never find it. Waste of money.

Good introduction to data techniques
Great book that covers lots of data analysis techniques (including statistics) in an easy to follow layout. Would definitely recommend to any wannabe data scientist.

Great book if you know the basics
Great book if you know the basics. Before I opened this book the only thing I really knew about Excel was how to enter data into columns. The very beginning pages of the book tell you that you really need to know the basics of excel in order to use the book. I quickly realized my level of knowledge was not with the authors were looking for. So I went back to my Excel program and went through the tutorials and got the basics down.. Once that’s done, this is a great book! It will really show you the ins and outs of how to analyze data, and how to set up the program in the easiest ways possible in order to collect the analysis you need. I felt it was well organized, and there was no need to read the book from start to finish… You could pick a chapter of something specific you needed to learn about, and there was enough information within the chapter to get you where you needed to go. If you look carefully at the title of the book it says it all… Data analysis for dummies, not Excel for dummies… As long as you understand that, the book will be of value to you.
