A Vincent Price Film Feast
Do you like stories of the macabre? Enjoy reading Edgar Allen Poe while a storm vents its fury outside your window? Like watching Vincent Price do what he does best?If you answered yes to any of these, you'll want to own this trio of tales based on the works of EAP.Price is a 'priceless' actor when it comes to films of gothic horror. Somehow, he can dramatise horror and revultion as no other can -- truly he is a master of the macabre. The film itself consists of three spooky tales which will enthral the watcher (assuming this is your sort of chosen entertainment). There is virtually no bloodletting in these tales, but they strike a deeper note than Freddy ever has.Not for younger children unless you want to sit up with them all night for their dreams, mature audiences should find this trilogy great for an evenings diversion.** Recommended **

A Great Horror Flick With Three Of The Greats O fThe Horror Genre
This one of the greatest movies in the horror genre that I had ever seen. Let's face it, with three of horror's greats in one movie, you can't go wrong.. Vincent Price,Basil Rathbone and Peter Lorre each give stellar performances with chills that will send chills down your spine. It's all good fun and is a really great flick. My favourite segment is the third installment where Price is dying and is also scared of dying (or being buried alive). Also starring in this particular segment is Basil Rathbone which makes it a little more eerie. Love this film, you will too and I think you should give it a "VIEWING". A real Poe classic!

Classic 60's Horror!
What else can be said about classic horror films from the early 60's?There was a time when anything Vincent Price appeared in I had to see. This is one of the better outings, not because of the many stars involved, but is good, clean fun! Yes, fun!Watching Vincent act with two other legends is a treat, with Peter Lorre doing what he does best (ad lib).Including 3 stories which are separate, but have the same mood, the violence is minimal, but the atmosphere makes up the shortage of gore in abundance.American International Pictures, one of the better Independant film companies who seemed to touch the pulse of what kids wanted to see during the late 50's and early 60's , who during the 70's almost went major, should be thanked for releasing these types of films. Films that were exploitative in essence, but entertaining to the upmost.

Little disappointed...
Great collection, however the quality of the copies were less than desirable. Most of the sound was too quiet or had a lot of scratching in background. While I know that a lot of older movies that weren't blockbusters dont get a lot of attention when remastering, this was truly a hurtful disregard to the actors and directors who worked on these films. There were a few of the films that had better quality, but wasn't worth keeping the whole collection

creepy stories enjoyable to watch
I recall watching the movie with Peter Lorre and Vincent Price years before but didn't recall the details. i recall reading a short story that was similar to the film Vincent Price and Basil Rathbone were in. i enjoyed watching all three of these movies. i enjoy older movies like these because they don't have vulgar language.

Corman, Poe & Price.
The fourth venture into Poe adaptations for Roger Corman and Vincent Price sees them taking on the portmanteau format with a trilogy of creepers.First off is Morella, which finds Price as a typecast loner living in a big old mansion with the dead corpse of his wife! Enter his daughter, who at birth was the reason for Morella’s death and thus Price originally holds a grudge, but of course there is a twist in the tale.Secondly is The Black Cat, with Peter Lorre joining Price in the best of the three tales. Price is a wine tasting dandy, Lorre a complete drunk and once Price meets Lorre’s beautiful put upon wife, things are going to end badly. Finally is The Case of M Valdemar which pits Basil Rathbone into the mix as a devious hypnotist who uses his powers for what he thinks will be sexually tinged deeds. Price is in this as well, but spends most of the story as a corpse. It’s a short sharp shock piece of film making, fun and sometimes stylish, it doesn’t however have the requisite scares to marry up with the welcome black humour that makes the second instalment the standout.Still, having three legends of cinema in one picture has to be a bonus, and The Black Cat alone is worth investing time with this one. 7/10
