Nickel track is the color grey. Steel track is the color black.

how do you make the track switch from one line to the other? Is there a button, or is it manual?

What kind did you buy??? If no wires, then you have to switch it by hand, but if it is electric, you should have a switch that you throw {push in} and then it will work.
