Excellent for a water based stain
For a water based stain, this is actually very good. Definitely use a foam brush to apply, especially on larger projects as it's just easier to level out and get a consistent colour. And I found it doesn't raise the grain that much too, although you do need to do the usual sanding prep etc, but that's the same for any stain really.

Stain no good for air rifle stock
Absolute poop ...I stripped and air rifle stock and followed the instructions to the T but the stains just would not take at all.Im gutted as I was looking foreward to finishing as a gift to my mate
