Dove Men+Care Post Shave Balm, Hydrate+ 3.4 oz

Okay, here's the deal. This is my current favorite post shave balm. It is wonderfully odorless and leaves my face feeling as good as with Neutrogena Post Shave Balm . The consistency is less runny than the Nivea Post Shave Balm , and truly makes your face feel cool. I did apply the Dove post shave balm a second time to my chin and upper lip, because those areas usually feel hottest. I now prefer the Dove first, then Neutrogena, then lastly Nivea. Some people complain about the squeeze bottle, but honestly it makes sense to have a bottom cap unlike the other two balms. If you accidentally squirted too much, hit your ashy elbows and be merry. This Dove post shave balm will make your face feel cool, soft, and smooth all day long! I suppose it's worth mentioning other products in my current shaving regimen. I prefer Wilkinson Sword blades, because they are a hair less insane than the Japanese Feathers. Proraso clearly makes the best pre-shave cream and is worth the money. Shaving creams to me don't matter that much. I like the smell of the original Barbasol right now, but Gillette makes a nice lemon lime shaving cream as well. If you have tried either the Nivea or Neutrogena post shave balms, do yourself a favor and get a bottle of Dove. You will not be disappointed. I bought this in an effort to try the most current popular lotions in searching for the best for me. I can honestly say that Dove makes the best one so far!

I tend to get a very dry face after shaving, and have used a variety of after shave balms and creams. Most of them do a good job, but tend to be very strongly scented, or leave my skin feeling greasy. This product applies easily, has a very mild scent, and doesn't leave my face feeling wet or greasy. The dispenser is also nice, because it sits with the opening at the bottom, so I don't have to keep shaking the bottle to get the product out. It is easy to dispense a very small amount, which is all that I need. I have been very pleased with the way it works. I don't know how it is for "sensitive" skin, because I don't consider myself as having sensitive skin. Price is reasonable, especially if you buy the two pack.

I used to suffer from a bit of shaver rash / burn and ingrown hairs and this balm has really helped with that. It doesn't have a strong scent (which I like) and it's absorbed really quickly, so it doesn't leave your skin feeling wet or greasy. I haven't tried other creams to see how they compare, because this one pretty much did the trick and it's relatively inexpensive. The one slight negative is that there's quite a bit left in the bottle when it stops coming out - but you can pop the top off and get another couple of weeks of balm out of it with a little bit of work. Yes, I am frugal :-)

I am a long-time Nivea user, but thought I would give the Dove Men's Hydrating balm a try. Since Nivea has undoubtedly changed it's formula to a stronger scent, I was looking for something not quite as overpowering. This was not my answer. It is as strong as the "new" Nivea. So I guess stronger smelling after-shave balms must be the rage now. You definitely do not need to use a lot of this balm at one time. I already use Dove hair care products (which I really like), and this Dove balm has the same scent. But like the "new" Nivea, this is still too strong for my liking. My wife likes the scent as along as I am on the other side of the room, so now I will switch back and forth between my Nivea and this Dove.

Wow, this lotion really calms my super-sensitive skin after a close shave! It seems to arrest irritation red patches and potential break-outs on contact. It is hydrating without being greasy and it quickly absorbs into the skin. I keep my hair buzzed to almost shaved. I apply this lotion onto my scalp as well as my face and it leaves my skin feeling moisturized and really smooth. The fragrance is subtle and dissipates for the most part within 20 minutes. I like this product so much that I now receive it on subscription. If you have sensitive skin and shaving roughs you up, this stuff will serve you well.

Tried this on a whim and have since ordered another one after I came close to running out. I no longer use any other lotion or shave balm of any kind. Even if I don't shave one day, I use this to moisturize my face. The scent is really enjoyable and certainly not strong. Has a 'clean' smell to it. The bottle itself can be difficult at times to get the exact amount you want out of it, but after a few tries I didn't have any issues. It does make the area around the cap a bit dirty since the excess is getting caught up in there (and it's on the bottom, so any extra will run into the cap area). I tend to clean that out every few days so I'm not getting chunks of dry balm on my face. This hasn't irritated my skin in anyway (usually very sensitive), and although it doesn't immediately calm razor burn (what does?), it leaves my face smooth and never looks oily. I'll keep buying this as long as they keep making it.

I had previously used an upscale, name-brand product made for sensitive skin. And I really liked it. But it was just too expensive, IMO. I then used another, similar product by a company better known for their women's products. And it was good, as well. Maybe not as good as the more upscale product, but good. Then I had tried the Dove product, since I use other Dove products. It seems to work just as good, at a far more reasonable price.

I find this balm to be the best of it's type. Seems to have been discontinued in the UK for some strange reason. Luckily you can still get it via USA easily from Amazon. Now works out about twice the price that it cost when readily available here but still worth it.

Good value for money. Nourishing akin and antiseptic
