Just wondering if, in a silent room, can you hear the watch ticking or no?

That is something that would bother me also. If you hold it to your ear in a quiet room it is barely possible to hear it. As silent as a watch gets.

I have smaller wrists and don’t prefer large chunky watches. Based on that, should I buy or go look into another?

One of the best parts about this watch is its size. While it's certainly a go anywhere, do anything watch, the case size is near perfect even for a smaller wrist. It's definitely not an oversized, bulky dive watch. This one is an absolute must have whether you're a watch enthusiast with 50 watches or just someone looking for a comfortable, rugged, and reliable daily driver work watch.

Bought this watch as a beater and it does a great job so far. I have worn it in hikes, swimming pools and even to work. Great watch for travel as well.

Quality issues

Belt quality poor. Have to replace belts frequently. If the battery is made for 10 years the belt should also.
