Changing the off and on switch is good the other one wore out quite Easley use it for reading and crafts/

My Ott-Lite is awesome! I make crafts and my lamp makes it soo much easier to see the pieces I work with. My Ott- Lite was worth the money I spent on it.

I desperately needed better light by my easel and this was perfect!

Isn’t as bright as I thought it would be. Difficult to install the bottom. Needs 2 people as the bottom is weighted 10 pounds. Light switch is located in an awkward position. That being said I bought another one. Lol

Well over a decade ago, I discovered Ott-Lites. My mom has been using the fold-up task lamp I gave her well over a decade ago. I've got three floor lamps, three fold-up task lamps (one with battery backup), a desk lamp, and two of the mini fold-up lamps - not sure what to call those, other than "handy," as I used one for reading two weeks ago during a power outage. It's easy to get replacement bulbs online and to identify what model number replacement bulb to order by contacting the company with the model number of the lamp (some, I think, also list the replacement bulb number on the lamp itself).I adore the light given off by Ott-Lite, no matter what model I'm using.I especially like this floor lamp for its versatile nature. The base slips nicely under a chaise lounge and curves over the lounge for easy reading. Only challenge is my boyfriend's Boston terrier - Boscoe grabs a spot in the chaise lounge on a regular basis. Maybe he's seeking the natural light, himself! Ott-Lites are my favorite lights, second only to sunlight!

Purchased for a friend's mother who has low vision. Her old lamp was metal and, although the durability of a plastic lamp concerned me, she loves that she can move it without it squeaking. That doesn't sound like much to most of us but she's almost 80. She lives in her favorite chair and naturally gets up and down for breaks. She may be a little more sensitive to sounds because of her poor vision and for days mentioned how this lamp doesn't make any noise when she swings it from over her head to get out of the chair. A breeze to set up as it required only one screw to put together. Her only complaint was feeling around to find the switch which was in a different location than her old light but that's to be expected switching from one product to another. Thumbs up from my friend's mother!

There really is a difference between Ott lights and everything else. The light is so bright that you can see everything you need to, but it's not harsh, glaring, or hot. I stopped doing embroidery for years because under regular table lamp I would get eye strain headaches, but I put an Ott floor lamp over the back of the couch VOILA! I could sew again! And the ceiling light in my sewing room is so wimpy that I put two more in there on my craft table (one clamp-on style, one desk-style) .No, they're not as cheap as some others but they're damn well worth it. But if you sew, craft, color, paint, read a lot, or do anything else that requires good lighting, this is the thing for you. Solidly made, fantastic quality light. No more headaches.

I love this light..... I have purchased six OTT lites over the years. The one this replaces was well over ten years old. I moved to a tropical climate four years ago where plastic and rubber disintegration and salt air corrosion are issues. These lights have held up and have been worth the price. I purchased the rolling stands too for this one and its twin and that makes them very mobile around my sewing and cutting tables. I gave my husband the one with the magnifiers for his work bench and he loves it. I purchased a more aesthetic looking one for my living room so I could do needlework while watching tv. The desk top lamp works near my sewing machine as well as for paperwork. The "day light" bulbs are awesome for color matching while sewing as well as making a sewing room with only one window less drab. I highly recommend them.
