life2O 14-in-1 Aquarium Water Test Strips are made from the same technology as our medical strips. Fish need water that is properly balanced & at equilibrium in order to survive, however, levels will change as waste & other organics accumulate. Additionally, heavy metals & fluoride will stress fish which causes disease or death. Test your fish bowl water daily to monitor, detect & control the water quality so fish stay healthy. Parameters Measured: 1. Total Alkalinity (0 β 400 mg/L) 2. pH (6 - 9) 3. Total Hardness (0 β 425 mg/L) 4. Carbonate Hardness (0 β 180 mg/L) 5. Free Chlorine (0 β 20 mg/L) 6. Nitrate (0 β 500 mg/L) 7. After repeated test. it doesn't work
I have tested my aquarium, well water, and river water (Osage river in Missouri). I have compared this Ultimate brand readings to 7 other test brands I have. I have compared this Ultimate brand to samples of my well water which was tested by our health department and one sample at a university, for more parameters than our health department. The readings of this Ultimate Life 2O brand are all way off. These strips will not read minerals in any water. I have added chemicals and minerals to the samples and these strips will still not read them. Other expensive testing does read the differences when I alter the sample with additives. I test my test equipment.

Absolute trash
Complete garbage product. Directions say to read after 60 seconds. See pictures - test strip on left is dry and a day old, strip on the right is 60 seconds. The wet strip has colors that aren't on the spectrum, like dark green, but when they dry they're yellow?Anyway, I knew these would be bad but thought it'd kinda give me an idea of where my 3g pico reef parameters are without pulling out 15 API bottles constantly. Dry pH shows 7.8?ish, but it's 8.4+/-. Alk test is nowhere near correct. It just sucks that this is useless

Maybe I got a bad batch. But it's not right!
I've never purchased this brand before so maybe it's a fluke. I always test new strips against the old ones and against an api master test kit. Old test strips tend to simply display less of any registered presence, ie. Copper or nitrates. Both my old strip and the api test kit registered under 25 ppm nitrates, but these test strips indicated no nitrates at all. As well as testing oddly low on ph compared to the other 2.I've thrown them and the money spent in the trash.

Unreliable for an automated and manual mixed full blown reef tanks as of yet but great idea
VERY DISAPPOINTEDβ’ Bought brand new and expires in just1 few months so will not remotely able to use before then.β’ I followed your written directions to the letter and was unreadable as they mostly ran together and contaminated the colors of the next ones.β’Only used one so far and not happy at all.I think Iβm buying Hanna checkers.β’ on the positive side they will work ok for the metals that are not even in my reef tanks to be sure it stays that way but in no way am I confident in the blurred colors Iβm getting.Waste of my money so far.

Only the first 3 working, the other 11 tests show no response to different types of water
I bought this product for my fish tank. I found its result can be pretty misleading. Based on its result, I purchased a alkalinity/carbonate booster product. However, i noticed there was just no change in Carbonate hardness test color even though I kept adding more of carbonate booster to the tank. I got skeptical on its accuracy. Then I purchased a different test product also from Amazon trying to do a comparison. What a difference !. The new tester showed that the KH value already over the normal range.I further tested this bad 14in1 tester on tap water and some mixed water. The only 3 tests with a response are "total alkalinity", "PH", and "Total Hardness". There are completely no change of color in the rest 11 tests no matter what type of water was tested. Not sure whether the whole product is bad. But I can definitely say that the bottle I received is a defect.
