3M Headliner & Fabric Adhesive, 18.1 oz.,

While redoing the headliner on my pickup truck, we ended up buying this fabric adhesive knowing full well it was probably going to be a one-time-use type of purchase. Because of that, the price initially felt a little higher than I wanted to spend for a single project. But now that several months have passed since using it, I can honestly say the effectiveness and durability of this product have absolutely justified the cost. First off, this stuff is strong. And I mean strong both in adhesion and in smell. The odor is very intense during application, so definitely make sure you’re working in a well-ventilated area before using it. Open doors, use fans, whatever you need to do, because this is not something you want to breathe in heavily while working. That being said, the actual application process was smoother than I expected. Once we sprayed it onto the fabric and attached the material to the truck headliner, it bonded really well. Months later, everything is still holding strong, and the durability has honestly impressed me quite a bit. One thing I learned during this whole process is that when you tackle a project like replacing a vehicle headliner for the first time, you suddenly realize there are all these specialty products out there that exist specifically to help with certain steps of the job. Since I had never done this before, I was definitely skeptical when people kept telling me I needed a dedicated fabric adhesive for it. I had honestly never even heard of products like this before starting the project. But looking back now, I completely understand why it was necessary. The end result looks fantastic. My truck interior looks significantly better with the new fabric installed, and everything about the finished project just feels cleaner and more professional overall. So while the upfront cost felt a little steep for something I may only use once, the actual results absolutely delivered for me.

We used this adhesive to restore our headliner in a 2003 mini cooper. It worked great. It can be thick if not applied in warmer weather. It has a nozzle that spays at perfect angle to not over spray fabric or liner frame. Do not spray to thick or it will may go through the fabric a show on the outside. It is sticky and needs to dry completely before handling. The longer the drying time the better adhesion. It did exactly what it was supposed to do.

Last week I bought this for a loose foam-backed fabric panel on the metal cabinet in our gym break room. Every time staff grabbed cups, the corner peeled back and looked rough. I wiped the metal clean, sprayed the surfaces as directed, and pressed the fabric down. The nozzle gave me an even spray, and I had enough in the can for the whole panel with some left. I left it alone overnight. The next morning, the edge stayed put when I tugged it lightly. There is a noticeable adhesive smell, so I kept the door open and let the room air out. Glad I fixed that before our staff meeting. Good for this kind of fabric-to-metal repair.

Worked as it should, had a little issues with it sticking to the headliner though; could just be user error!

My truck’s headliner had been drooping badly for months, and a shop quoted me a steep price to redo it. I picked up this 3M fabric adhesive for my DIY project. It sprays evenly and bonds heavy fabric firmly to the metal roof panel. I also used it to reattach loose carpet foam in the cargo area. After a week of hot summer days, nothing peeled or bubbled. This can works great and helped me refresh my truck interior without breaking the bank.

It works fine for upholstery projects. I would prefer to use Landau Top cement for upholstery and headliners because I know it can handle heat. This product is sticky enough to glue materials to foam and I did not have any discoloration. I did not notice my needle on my Juki industrial getting gummy from this adhesive. Drying time is a little longer but that is ok. The 2 pack was a good value for my money and this is a good adhesive.

(2006 Accord 4dr, no sunroof) Pretty easy to work with, after application to both surfaces things just attach. I could lift and reposition up to about a minute or 90 sec after spraying, then it gets difficult to adjust. The spray truly comes out like webbing. Cool. Very little odor which was nice too. Minor gripe, after the first section (around 1/4 of the headliner) when a single spray covered say 4 inches each pass, the spray diminished to like 2 inches each pass. Just meant more work to get the glue down. Finished with 1/4 left in the can.

I can't use it. Tried it on a patch of cloth in the car and it looks awful!

Marvellous product! Only 3M for me all the time. Did my car ceiling with this, yes people say comes out like string, WITCH IS NORMAL It is glue it sticks!! Apply is a charm , no bumps nothing.

This adhesive works very well. I used it to refit the new headliner fabric because the old one had failed. To be fair, it was on a 25 year old car and that I use as a daily driver. It is easy to use, dries fast, and even though I was working alone, it was pretty easy to apply and now the new headliner looks great.

Used it for headliner works well. Dont get it on your skin, I didn’t, but I imagine it wouldn’t be fun.
