How long does it take for the slime to dry out?

When we’ve made slime it usually takes an hour or so for the liquid to drain off and then it’s just slime. It’s gooey, but shouldn’t be dripping or anything.

My grandkids apparently got this on the walls and carpet of their new house. now i’m in the doghouse. it’s on their cottage cheese ceilings. help!

To remove slime off the carpet, mix vinegar (2/3) and water (1/3). Pour the mix solution onto the stained area, then brush softly. Vacuum once dry. To remove slime from solid materials, scrape it off. Make a paste consisting of baking soda, water and a little portion of vinegar. Cover the stained area with the paste, then let it dry for at least 2 hours. Once paste is dry, brush it off with a paper towel.

How long can the slime be played with before it gets dry, how many days is it good for (should i put it in a container?)

There are some advices to preserve your slime: place it in a plastic bag, a ziplock bag from the kitchen will work. Squeeze out as much of the air in the bag as you can. Air will cause your slime to dry out. Zip up the bag and place it in the refrigerator, the cold will help slow down the growth of bacteria and mold.
If it gets hard and dry, you just need a few tablespoons of warm water in a bowl then knead the slime into the water. It absorbs some of the water making it soft. You also can use lotion, just add a little to a bowl and mix it with a splash of water.
Keep the slime away from dirty surfaces, wash your hands before playing with your slime (to avoid bacteria)
Your slime should last for few weeks.
If your slime starts growing anything, it's time to toss it out.
