Can the tray hold a standard home theater projector? are there screw holes to secure a projector or does it sit on the tray unfastened? thank you.

It should hold a standard theater projector. Just ensure that the locking knobs are tightened. There isn't a screw hole to secure the projector. You'll need to strap it down or apply non slip adhesives to the tray. An alternative would be to drill holes lining up to existing bottom holes and bolt it in. Hope that helps.

I need at lease 3ft to 4ft of hight from ground for my laptop to use at bed side.and diner table side. Is it tall enough?

The stand is adjustable up to 41". Depending on the height of your bed, I think it should be good. It should certainly be good for most table heights.
