Is there only one way to do this project? In other words, does everyone end up with the exact same color pattern?

The colored mosaic tiles actually have a sticky back that fits (yes) the specific tiles of the butterfly ...each butterfly product has the same coloring. You can always copy the colored template sheet for sizing. Then makeup your own colors to glue-gun on or have the template as a pattern to paint. It’s beautiful as it is by the way!

What is the finished size of the butterfly?

The overall finished size of the completed stained glass is 10" w x 8.5" h - but the butterfly image within is 8" w x 7" h.

Can you seal it to hand outside?

I wouldn't hang it outside. Ours is hanging on the inside of window. Kids really enjoyed putting it together.

I’ve read a few reviews that said the pieces fall off if hung in a window, anyone had it hanging in the window for a while and all is still intact?

I had only one piece fall out and that was only because it was initially put on wrong and had to be peeled back off, loosing some of the adhesive. A quick fix with some hot glue. This was a wonderful father/son project that still looks great 6+ months later. It has hung there without ever falling throughout winter and now spring. I bought 2 and am 100% happy.
