I decided to buy the book after seeing the film by chance. I really enjoyed the film and so I did the book. I like everything,the storytelling,the plot, the way in which is written!

Everybody made a big deal about the twist in the end. I thought it was spur of moment. Im writing this after the book hangover got down. The twist actually is a big deal.Simple language. Adhesive narrative. Good story.

少し前に米国で話題になっていて、ペーパーバックになったので買ってみました。舞台は一昔前の英国の田舎のお屋敷で、著名な小説家が今まで誰にも明かしたことの無い自分の過去を伝記作家に語って聞かせる設定。全編に漂う不気味さや謎めいたお屋敷での出来事は、この物語の中でもモチーフとして何度も触れられる「ジェーン・エア」を彷彿とさせる世界です。英語はそれ程難しくないので、まずまず楽しめます。

The copy I received is quite old and some of the pages are coming out of the binding. But I expected that while ordering a used book. Otherwise there are no complaints. This book is difficult to procure without spending a fortune so I'm happy with my purchase

A great read...takes you back and forth in time with a story you want to know what happens...a real page turner, Loved it!
