Tight. Accurate. Install friendly.
Chose these for a 2005 Chevy Silverado extended cab install for an uncle. Really liked the versatility in ohm wiring that these dual voice coil woofer came with. Being an electrical engineer, I thought about the install from woofer enclosing wiring to the amp to the battery. Being the amp has a bridge option for 4 ohm single speaker option. I put each side of the woofers in series (2 ohm x 2 in series gives the amp a 4 ohm load) and will operate within its capability at 200 watts at one 4 ohm load. They look great! Let me make that statement. For the enclosure, which isnt very deep as to fit under a rear bench seat, they still cleared the mounting depth as needed, beefy looking and all. Loved that they have push button speaker terminals. So sad not even my home theater speakers have this to the level these have. Easy to run multiple wires into if needed. The bass they output was a good match to the type of bass we were looking for. Tight. Controlled, realistic and a great fill in. Uncle didn't want all the boom and rumble the rest of us might go for. He likes 50s 60s and Latino style music, so that was the aim. Not to say a turn of the bass know can't make them move, but he likes the sound uniform with bass presence. I am very proud of the overall sound of this system with the Kenwood DMX7706S with an amazing DSP on board, Jbl components and coaxials which creates an overall sound you would want to listen to till the battery dies! Highly recommended and totally affordable.

Great value, but be gentle.
You've seen it here in review after review and I am going to repeat it. These subs hit hard and go low at an amazing value, you'll be hard pressed to find subs this good in a similar price point. I'm running two IX-12 on a Rockford Punch 550.2 bridged, the subs in series and coils are parallel for a 2 ohm load in a 3 cubic foot sealed box. These guys hit so hard my teeth rattle, this is a result of the signal my amp is delivering but the point is; these speakers take the power and sound good doing it for a great price. I would not even question buying another speaker from this company again.***UPDATE 6/8/19***After less than a year of pushing these subs hard, one of them has given up and fused the coils together causing me to go through a lot of fuses identifying the problem. My amp was popping fuses under heavy load for a while, then started popping them right away under signal. I believed my MOSFETS were fried and had an electronics tech buddy take a look, amp tested okay. Next step I tested the coils on both subs and one of them tested terribly low, and registered a resistance across opposing pos to neg. So for the price I believe I'm still okay with these subs if you're going to respect them, and treat them kindly. If you want to abuse them spend some more money and buy a more durable speaker.

Down for sound
Best sub I have ever bought by far very musicly accurate and plays way lower than I ever would have thought. And I still can't believe I got it for 50$ on Amazon!! I am putting 503 watts from a kicker 400.1 and it is amazing!!

Incredible for the money
Was a little sketched out by how cheap it was but thats what i was looking for in a multi sub build. This thing too my breath away at how close it came to the SDR(do not buy that one, lots of people have the coil fry on rms, happened to me) VVX (god i miss her, had her playing decaf for years until gave it to my friend, he still beats on the thing everyday) and DDX subs ive gotten from skar. The other subs havent arrived yet but i wanted something now and boy im glad i did, i have it on a rp800 (beautiful amp btw, ive had it for about 6 years) at 4 ohms doing 370rms which i was scared to do but honestly this thing ate that shit for about 2 hours straight, i didnt even break it in haha you guys will not be disappointed. The other subs coming in is the old infinity kappa perfect(for tha lows), those things are monsters hitting 18hz w easy And a new kappa 1200 (to be my middle ground and take most of the power). This IX (hits the lows and absolutely slaps to about 100hz for my highs) and actually got down to about 22 on a tone, impressive actually. Gonna wire the ix at 4 ohms (225w), the perfect at 4 ohms (225w), and the 1200 at 2 ohms (450w), wire it all in parallel to 1 ohm (900rms). At the prime age of 22 Ive gone through skar, infinity, kicker, massive, memphis, mtx, even... boss (imagine me throwing up on boss) and the only thing i could say even possibly beats skar is infinity but they damn expensive. Skar, you're my knight is black armor.

Best bang for the buck!
By far the best budget friendly subwoofer for the $$!With the IX series subs you can get a banging set up that would satisfy most people without needing a huge amp or extra batteries. What you get for the $$ is insane compared to other entry-level budget subs; For example:- They have push terminals while other entry level subs use cheap spade terminals for cost cutting- The speaker leads are woven on to the spider- You get dual voice coils instead of just one for multiple set up configurations- Genuine pressed pulpy paper cone instead of plastic- Conservatively rated power handling (see below)I have a detailed 'walkaround' of the sub on my Youtube channel going over the features on it, hooked it up to my amp for some free-air excursion and pushed it to the limit! It took it like a champ and barely got warm. If you want to see the video search my channel: Valor_XI am an audiophile and a basshead and love making DIY setups to get the best quality and bang for the $$. Skar Audio delivers no doubt. You may see some haters online bashing the company but pay them no attention, let them pay 2-3x the $$ for a big name company. After trying these out in my car I knew they were the real deal. I even got DIY Skar Audio set ups in my restroom and living room being pushed daily and still banging strong for 2 yrs!
