Tower T838005W Sensor Bin with Retainer Ring, Battery-Operated, 50L, White

When I read the mixed reviews about this bin, I was a bit unsure but I desperately needed an alternative than hanging a bin bag on my kitchen door. The dog was always getting stuff from it. I don't have much room for a bin in my kitchen so I needed something slimline but large enough for a family of 4 household with a cat and a dog.I have had this bin for a month now and I love it. I really like the fact that it is an automatic close system, so you don't have to touch the bin at all. It is really easy to operate and clean. It fits in a small space and I've turned it so it doesn't sense people walking past it. The sensor seems to be working well and I'm still using the original batteries (these are not included).The only awkward thing is trying to keep the lid open longer. It is possible if you make sure you stand in front of the sensor when emptying stuff into the bin. This will keep it open until you walk away.I would buy this bin again and it was a good price when I purchased it from Amazon.I just need to figure out a way of stopping my dog purposely using his nose to use the sensor to open it! Hahaha!

Looks smart but the lid did break after severalMonths. They replaced it with no problem

Matches my kitchen perfectly. I chose the cream one. Sturdy and great 50l capacity bin. Sensor is great - opens and closes without having to touch the lid.

I've given the bin 1 star because it does look good, however the sensor is very poor. I have removed the plastic cover and cleaned the sensor several times but it still only works when it feels like it. We have had similar bins that would open instantly when it sensed a hand or a foot (useful sometimes). This bin never reacts to a foot and you have to wave your hand for a few seconds to get it to open. Most of the time I lose patience and open it manually. I have tried contacting the seller but was provided with instructions for several different types of bins, nothing that helped. So if you want a good looking bin that opens occasionally when it senses your hand, this is the bin is for you. However if you want a sensor bin that opens instantly when it senses movement, I would suggest that you look elsewhere. If the supplier reads this I would be interested in your comments.

Great cream/neutral bin however I put batteries in and the sensor don’t work, maybe a quick fix otherwise the shape/size fits nice in my kitchen it can still be used regardless of the lid functionality

Plastic feels a little cheap but Perfect size bin with an added bonus of a sensorHad a great deal with Amazon Prime deals

This bin is ok, sensor works fine however the lid closes pretty quickly. Not worth the £43 I paid for it.
