security light
This is a great idea to use for variety purposes. The ease of installation is simple and the range/size is great! I recommend this for use from one room to another room to alert someone!

A really bright strobe does the trick!
Bought this for my profoundly deaf adult son's bedroom. We applied the "door bell button" to the wall outside his door. The "ringer/flasher" must be plugged in, so we had to install a hook up the wall at eye level and use an extension cord to loop over the hook. Aesthetically not pleasing at all. However, this is the first device that actually is bright enough to waken him, and gets his attention when awake and involved in something. Gives him the privacy he desired. We have tried other products and this is the only one that works. Would be great if it had a second door bell button for use outside our front door.

Simple to install, easy on the ears and eyes, a little too pricy
Unlike the 16 dollar version of this, this doorbell is easy to install, works well and sounds pleasant. Confirms my theory of product design that companies design an inexpensive item full of unnecessary, frustrating flaws so you'll be willing to pay a much higher price for the product they should have built in the first place. This should cost less, but it is the product that brings you relief from the frustrations brought by the less expensive doorbell.

Not loud at all
I've come to the conclusion that all of these so-called loud doorbells that are electronic chime based, just cannot be made to be loud. The strobe works great. But the chime itself is no louder than any other doorbell. It's not useful for its intended purpose.

Doorbell for hard of hearing mother.
My mother, at 93, lives at her home with her 87 year old sister. They are both pretty hard of hearing and we had tried other doorbells but this one has worked best for them. The light will grab their attention even if they don't hear it, which they normally do because it is pretty loud. If they move to different rooms they just unplug it and take it with them and plug it up in the room they are in and it works great. Overall we are all very pleased with this product.

Looks good, easy to set up, but disappointing
I would not recommend purchasing this item to anyone, either hearing or hard of hearing/deaf. Although easy to install, well-made, and having a nice appearance, this is not — in my opinion — even an adequate doorbell for someone who can hear well. The doorbell sound is quite soft and muted; it’s relatively easy for hearing people to miss. The strobe light is great, but it only flashes a set number of times and it is only visible within a fairly close distance, which must be near an electrical outlet. There is no way to mount the strobe higher on a wall unless there’s an outlet there. Overall, it’s easy to miss and doesn’t do a very good job of doing what it is supposed to do.

Works as advertised.
I bought this for the strobe light so the delay while music plays is a little long. We put the button in a weather proof box as we do not have a covered porch. It says it is weather proof but having lost a more expensive system due to weather we are taking no chances. Don't mount it on metal instead mount on wood attach wood to metal. I wish it came with instructions but you can find the manual online. I gave it 5 stars because it does what it says it will.

I liked it because it's wireless
I liked it because it's wireless. My hearing impaired son recently moved into his own apartment, that had no door bell. With his hearing loss he usually does not hear them anyway. I bought this as a surprise gift for him and installed it using 3m command Velcro strips with an extension cord on the main unit; mounting it at standing eye level. He put a note in my father's day card, thanking me for it and said "he really liked it!"Thank you to all at Safeguard Supply, they even sent a follow up e-mail to see if I was satisfied with the product. "yep"
