Icona Vacuum Seal Containers for Food Storage; Airtight Kitchen Storage Containers With Lids for Food; Large Food and Snack Storage Containers

I am working on my food storage pantry, and needed some vacuum seal containers. This system came complete, with a vacuum sealer, and two vacuum containers. I am currently using them as a container to vacuum seal jars, putting the jars into the plastic container and drawing a vacuum. It works pretty well. I have not yet had an opportunity to use them for food storage, but they should work beautifully. They are good sizes, one large, one smaller. The vacuum sealer is very easy to use and works on four batteries. It is a little hard to tell when the vacuum seal is complete, because you press the sealer unit over the valve, it makes a noise, and that noise never stops--it changes a little, but as long as it is pressed, makes a noise. The instructions do not say how to tell when the vacuum seal is complete and when to stop using up your batteries! Don't get me started on instructions--I have encountered so many bad instructions lately--AARGH. Anyway, I am very happy with this system so far. It was shipped quickly, packaged well, and arrived safely. I would recommend it.

So, to try this out, I tried using it with apples we got from apple picking. I cut the apples up and then used this to preserve them, and...it works! My apples stayed fresh (no browning) and I was able to eat it about 2 days after cutting it up. Personally, this works great. It comes with the vacuum to take all the air out and two sized containers so you can use it for different things.Ease of Use is great. All you have to do is press it down on the portion on the Tupperware and the vacuum automatically sucks out all the air.The Tupperware that comes with it both are sturdy and thick and both are easy to wash.No leaks at all and it actually is really great to preserve food longer.

The Icona Vacuum Seal Containers work well for preserving a variety of perishable items. I have used it for a couple weeks to ensure that it is working well before writing a review. The containers have nice air tight seal with the vacuum attachment opening conveniently located on the top for easy operations. The vacuuming unit is operated by 4 AA batteries which are included in the package. It turns on by itself by pressing the tip on the vacuum opening.Another plus with this vacuuming unit is that it also works with my other existing food vacuum sealer bags. The only slight draw back is that the unit is a bit bulky and it does not run on rechargeable batteries.

It does workIt is pretty basic,,little figuring outIt is slow...very slow to workNow that is a downside so at night when you want that quick bite of fruit...I am not resealing that slow.I really couldn't figure out the sound thing well ( you can hear the difference in the sound the unit makes) so when the sides of the tupperware pop off , it is sealed still. Whether they should do this or not? I don't know but it was sealed closed and worked so let's go with it.Yes it does work when sealed so keep that in mind.It does work not as easy as some others I have seen.For the price and ease of use. This isn't a favorite thing for me.

I've had vacuum machines, bags, containers, etc. for years. I guess I've tried about every style that I've seen out there. And sadly, many do not work. These do. These also work with my other vacuum machines and adapters ... even the manual hand pump I have works on these containers. These are best containers I've used ... and again, I've used a lot ... different brands and different styles. I intend to get more of these ... just the containers next time.
