Stagg Gooseneck Pour Over Kettle for Coffee & Tea - Precision Spout

The design and aesthetic are awesome. Was a gift for a friend, and they love it.

Great high quality product that has held up over time. I usually don't leave reviews until I have had a product for a while. Had this over a year and it has worked great! The paint still looks great even after using over our gas stove and camping stove. Some paint chipping on the bottom only, but that's to be expected when on a direct flame. Thermometer works great and no dents or dings even with daily use (often multiple times a day). Would buy again, but probably won't need to.

Extremely functional and very visually stunning kettle.

We have had a "cheap" gooseneck kettle for years and for Christmas, I wanted to gift my husband an upgraded gooseneck kettle. This brand was recommended by all the coffee expert-type reviewers. I should have read the Amazon reviews first. After use #2, I walked into the kitchen after a handful of minutes to find the handle completely on fire and plastic melting everywhere (on the kettle, on my stovetop). Not only was the product destroyed and no longer usable, but the smell and chemical abrasion on my lungs (and that of my entire family, incl. 2 kids) was atrocious. I attempted to go through Fellow's customer service, but they told me to just buy a new handle (at my cost). A new handle doesn't remove the plastic from my kettle, mind you. You can argue its user error (Fellow certainly is trying to), but my "cheap" kettle also has a plastic handle and in the course of several years of using that kettle and my stovetop the EXACT same way, have never experienced a kettle on fire and melting plastic. This is an atrocious product and an atrocious customer service policy. If you are hesitant at all DO NOT BUY, if you are reading this review or any others that allege the melting (I wish I had read them first) DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY! I rarely write reviews, but this product merits a strong DO NOT BUY recommendation, and I hope I save one other family from the unnecessary risk to their lives and chemical attack on their lungs.

This is a lovely coffee pot for pour-overs. Looks amazingly modern and the matte black finish is high grade. It pours perfectly and the thermometer gauge works well. The lines and detail is a bit on the light delicate side so It might be hard to see for some. The handle works well for a nice balance in the hand when pouring. I would buy again and give as a gift. It is pricey compared to some but you are paying for the elegant modern simple style.

I desperately wanted this kettle just because it's so beautiful. And for looks, it gets a 10--or I guess 5 stars on amazon. The reason I'm only giving it 4 stars right now is because I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it because of 2 design flaws: -See that silver ring around the handle? It gets HOT. And since the other part of the handle is relatively short, it is very easy to burn your hand. I think someone else mentioned this too. Seems like even 1/4" longer would have solved it. -Flaw #2: The top does not attach to the kettle. The instructions advise you to hold onto the top when you pour out the water, which is a little annoying. (Remember, we're talking about spending $85 to boil water. At that price point, it really ought to be perfect.) I actually forgot about this when I poured, and the top didn't come off, but I can see how it might. But having said all that: it works perfectly. It pours beautifully--I use an Aeropress and these gooseneck kettles are supposed to be for pourover coffee, but it's the same concept IMHO and it works great. The temperature gauge is easy to read (the proper range is marked in red). It doesn't whistle, so you do have to watch it. But of course the real pleasure is in looking at it on your stove, or next to your coffee beans and grinder and frother and what have you. The shape is so elegant and the matte finish is really gorgeous. I'll update this review in a month.

I purchased this kettle for use with an induction cook top. The Kettle works with the induction 'burner' but is not extremely sensitive to it and only the smallest 'burner' responds. It takes longer than most induction ready cookware to get the water up to temperature (~5 minutes instead of < 2), but it heats up fast enough that the water is usually ready by the time I'm done grinding coffee. The kettle also has a louder than usual induction 'humm'. This doesn't bother me, but it is worth mentioning. There is room for improvement here, but not enough to warrant a full star. The kettle retains heat very well and stays hot for a long time. It is well balanced and the handle is never hot (though this is unsurprising given that I'm using induction). It is very pleasant to use. The kettle is very nicely designed and looks great just sitting on the cook top and I don't feel the need to hide it away after use.

loved it, until! One drop of the lid on my counter top was all it needed to knock the needle off the temp gauge. Disappointed for the cost.

Esta tetera ademas de bonita es muy funcional. Cuesta un poco el hacerte a la temperatura usando los fogones, pero una vez que das con los tiempos es fácil alcanzar esos 93 grados para los cafés de filtro El asa es cómoda y permite verter el agua poco a poco sin mucha experiencia. Enfin, une bouilloire à café au design élégant, qui n'est pas détruite par une production bon marché. Ceci est un produit supérieur. Il est conçu pour fonctionner correctement et pour être utilisé avec plaisir. À la troisième tentative, j'ai finalement acheté un produit à cet effet qui mérite d'être conservé. Ça marche et c'est beau.

While the quality is there, and it slightly overpriced

This is not only a wonderful example of industrial design, but also the most controllable and comfortable pour-over kettle I've used. The pour on this 1.3 version is amazing - I can't get it to mis-pour even if I try. The counterweighted handle isn't a gimmick either - it really does make it more comfortable to hold while pouring. My only (very minor) criticism is the temperature gauge which, although marked in both Celsius and Fahrenheit, clearly favours the latter with the °C temperatures marked out at odd 11° intervals rather than the more logical 10. I'd much prefer a Celcius only version or, better yet, a digital one. Other than that, my only concern is how the matt black finish will hold over time up to use on a gas hob — I suspect the polished steel might've been a better bet in that regard, but the black is just so damn pretty!
