Weak magnet base
Fair quality, the magnet needs to be stronger as it tends to slip when the light is extended to its max range.

Performs well for 8 hours a day on a bandsaw
We use the Fulton Woodworking Tools 1294 Magnetic Work Light on our 16' bandsaw for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Our bandsaw is a bit dated, and has a little vibration to it. The magnet holds strong all day long and the light does not move. It helps eliminate the shadows at the blade, caused by the regular shop lighting. Item arrived quicker than expected, and was packaged well.

Nice, but weak magnet
Well built light. Magnet in base needs to be stronger. After using for a while, Id demote to 3 stars simply because the weak magnet makes positioning the lamp awkward. If you can find a 2-1/4" dia. Magnet it would be a necessary upgrade to make this lamp useful.

Very cheap made and arrived damaged!!
What a weak piece of junk!! Quality control is not good. Got it today and opened up the package to see a big crack in the plastic arm. This thing is mainly made entirely of plastic. I understand you can’t expect much for 20 bucks but come on. I stuck it to the side of my drill press and the magnet immediately came off of the metal washer it was glued on. You’re gonna have to reattach the magnet with some better glue then what they apparently used.I hate returning stuff so I had to make work with what wasn’t already broken. I removed the broken piece and unusable parts and fabricated a metal bracket of my own. This work light styling and design is on point, but it falls way short in the quality of materials used to be in any garage/shop setting. If the flexible joints were made of metal, and magnet was a bit stronger, then it would be an awesome work light! It’s a shame.

Help me to get the job done
Not a easy light to find but Amazon had one, I needed a light for a Drill press I rebuilt floor standing and this light dose the job. Strong magnet to clamp on anywhere and long enough power cord to satisfy my reach, This is a good deal.

Works fine but shade too small.
This is a great little shop light, and I would give it five stars, but..... I have one of these that is about 15 years old. It still works great and I use it every day. The new one has exactly the same base as the old one, but the shade is a little smaller and does not project as far. This is an issue as I want any bulb in there to be shielded to reduce glare. Because of the thin metal of the shade, I run a CFL bulb so its not too hot to handle. (An incandescent 60W bulb will really get these cooking...) I will eventually switch to LEDs once the CFLs are used up in a few years. Until then, the big bulbs go in the old light fixture and the smaller CFLs go in the new one. Its a minor point, but I find it irritating that such a nice fixture design was revised to presumably save a few cents. On an incidental note, the shade came dented from how it was folded to be packaged. This has nothing to do with the rating being four stars, but some people might feel otherwise.

Cheap Cheap Cheap.
The reviewers who state the magnet is a joke are correct. I can't get it to hold anywhere on our mill. I may be able to use it on the lathe which has a horizontal surface I can set it on. The magnet is only good for keeping it from falling over if you attach set the lamp on a flat surface, it will not hold in any vertical position. The rest of the lamp feels very cheap. This is a $5 flea market lamp. Won't buy another.
