The clock itself works fantastic! Does indeed do everything that's mentioned in the product description. I can't speak on the durability yet but the clock has a good feel to it and looks great along with our wooden chessboard set. Literally the only problem isn't with the Clock itself, but the instructions. The most common question in these Amazon reviews is how to get the clock to go in "Countdown" mode. The instructions are confusing and even the seller in the Q&A section doesn't answer the question properly. My daughter and I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get the clock go in Countdown mode, we treated it as a brain / engineering puzzle and we got it to work! *** HOW TO GET THE CLOCK IN COUNTDOWN MODE *** It's actually very simple once you know what to do. You need to power-off the clock and then power-on the clock again. Then you follow the instructions in the manual. So to break it down: 1. Turn off clock, then turn on clock 2. Hold the pause/play button for 3 seconds to enter set time mode 3. Use the + or - buttons to configure the exact number for the hour/minute/second you want and then Tap the pause/play button to move to the next option. 4. Just keep Taping the pause/play button to scroll through all the options including bonus time. 5. Once you're happy with the settings, hold the pause/play button for 3 seconds. Your Countdown time is now set. 6. Tap the pause/play button to begin the actual Countdown when you're ready to play. You also don't need to do these steps every time if you're going to play with the same game time. For example, let's say you were playing a 20 minute game and then finished it. To start a new 20 minute game, simply turn off and turn on the Clock. From there, just Tap the play/pause button and the Countdown will begin immediately with the same 20 minute game settings. It actually works very well once you know what to do, but the problem is the instructions don't have half the information I mentioned or lack the clarity. This can make it appear the Clock doesn't work correctly if you try to follow their confusing instructions. But hopefully this review will help some people with their purchase because this is an excellent clock marred by poor instructions.

Once I read the instructions, it was super easy to use. Love playing with this. I think I can't go back to un-timed chess! Needs one AA battery, not included.
