Love this book. I took Spanish in high school but I love the language and I like to keep up. This book is easy to understand and has the words I needed.

The author is obviously highly qualified to write such a guide and I enjoy looking up phrases I haven’t used before. However, if someone has never had classroom Spanish classes, where the instructor or a recorded Spanish speaker pronounced the phrase at a “teaching” speed, the “syllabic” phonetic pronunciation guide writing is a little misleading at times. Sometimes, the emphásis is on the wrong sýllable. 😳. But, once a reader understands the flowing nature of the phrases, the phonetics are a little easier to work with. I bought my son a copy. He has spoken “Spanglish” on the job, but never had a Spanish class, and he enjoys the book.

The Easy Spanish Phrase Book has a bright red and yellow cover with large yellow lettering and a Spanish flag design across the front . It's a compact paperback that is easy to carry around, and the pages have a straightforward layout with English phrases, Spanish translations, and phonetic pronunciations to help with speaking. My wife and I went down to Mexico for 10 days, and this book would have been a great travel companion for the kinds of situations we experienced. We used Uber, went shopping, and spent time meeting people in a courtyard in the evenings. Being able to look up everyday Spanish phrases and have a pronunciation guide right there is exactly the kind of thing that can help when you're trying to communicate in a country where you don't speak the language fluently. The book contains over 700 words, phrases, and sentences covering everyday situations, including transportation, shopping, greetings, eating and drinking, and medical and emergency situations. Those are all practical topics when you're traveling, and I like that the information is organized by subject so you can find what you're looking for without having to search through the entire book. The phonetic pronunciation guides are a useful feature, especially for beginners. Sometimes you know what you want to say in English but aren't sure how to pronounce it in Spanish. Having the Spanish phrase along with a pronunciation guide gives you a way to practice and try communicating with people more confidently. It also includes information about regional differences between Spain and Latin America, along with a Spanish Grammar Primer covering vocabulary, verb conjugations, and basic grammar. That adds some learning value beyond simply looking up a few travel phrases. The paperback is relatively thin and compact, making it convenient to take along on a trip. It isn't a thick reference book, but the smaller format is helpful when you're traveling and want something you can keep handy. I'd consider it a worthwhile travel companion for anyone wanting to learn some Spanish before heading out on a trip

Full of basic phrases but not really right for my needs as a traveler. This would probably be a good reference for a student taking Spanish lessons, however.

The contents of the book is great. The issue I have is I ordered the spiral version, and there’s a lot cut off in the margins in the beginning of the book. They should’ve widened the margins if they’re going to offer a spiral bound version.

Such a brilliant book. Full of great phrases and is easy to take around with you. The phrases are easy and simple to learn and can expand your vocabulary quickly. I have found it very helpful.
