Game Changer
The first mix I did on these monitors was the best mix I ever did. It translated across all playback sources, and even sounded great on my tablets and cell phones. They aren't great sounding monitors - they're not meant to be. They have a very specific purpose for which they excel. They shouldn't be your primary monitors for tracking and editing.. but for mixing, spending most of your time on these monitors switched to mono will do wonders for your mixes.

Wrong power cable. 230 volt version.
The problem is these are 230 volt version so i have to buy two power cables now in order to use them; they came with the 230 volt european power cables. Hey I’m like in the usa! Cant use these cables. Why do you even stock these in usa! Duh? Feel like i got ripped. I already have two passive pair and 1 active and i like them; thats why i bought these. I use the active as a center speaker in 5.1 surround so will add these as rear surround. Assuming they work.

its like listening to a alarm radio speaker
Its very nice to have a pair of this dudes tough is dificult to understand it the first hours of listening. this is very good to mix mid range freq.

Make sure you have a subwoofer!!!
These speakers are wonderful, the time saving factor is definitively there as you no longer have to test mixes in all kinds of speakers, i.e. car speakers, IPods, etc. since these translate really well to those. Make sure you have a subwoofer when mixing with these, otherwise your mix will end up really bassy. I mix EDM so it works for me without the sub but other genres will need it for sure. Behringer makes a clone of these, the Behritone C50A which is half the price of the avantone. I haven tried those personally but I've heard good things about them. You can also get the passive version of the avantones for half the price if you already have an amp. On a separate note, one of my speakers was defective out of the box with crackling noises (blown) and hats off to amazon's incredible customer service. With in an hour of calling them I got a $500 gift certificate, no return required. WOW!!!

Wonderfully Bad.
These little babies are perfect what what they are meant for. If you need a monitor to let you know how your mix will sound on small consumer based speakers, then these are perfect for the job. The build of these monitors is wonderful and they are surprisingly heavier then I expected. The only thing that I do not like is the on off switches are extremely hard to push. I am glad that I went with the black gloss one as they fit in well with my other monitors in my studio setup.

Great for referencing your mix
These speakers are the best for referencing your Mix, best for Mono but also useful for Stereo. I use them via an M-Audio USB 8 channel interface switchable from Cubase Control Room.
