David Rio Orca Spice Reduced Calorie Chai Tea Latte Mix, 11.9 Oz

This is the best chai tea mix I have ever tasted and I tasted/ordered a lot of chai tea. I have been buying it for years. I drink it every morning. I don’t drink coffee, tea is my go-to. When I started taking collagen in the morning, I needed to add it to my tea. I found this powdered mix and when I added my powder to it - I was hooked for life as it tastes great, with or without the collagen powder. An added bonus is that it’s sugar free! Don’t pass this up!

3:00 pm or 4:00 pm rolls around and I want a hot drink as an afternoon treat and as a little pick-me-up, but coffee that late in the day usually keeps me awake at night. So, this is the perfect afternoon treat for me. I don't know how much caffeine is in this, but I am sure it is less than what is in a cup of coffee. I love the taste, and it is as easy as opening the container, putting three teaspoons of the powder into a cup, and adding boiling water. If I'm really treating myself, I put a squirt of whipped cream on top. My only complaints are 1) the price has risen considerably over the last couple of years, and 2) I have to give it more than just a quick stir in order to dissolve all of the powder. Those are the only complaints I have! I still give it five stars!

This Orca Spice chai mix is such a treat! It has the perfect balance of spice and creaminess, and it’s super easy to make—just add hot water or milk, and you’re set. I love that it’s sugar-free but still full of flavor. I’ve even used it in iced lattes and blended drinks, and it’s just as tasty! Compared to other chai mixes, this one’s got that warm, authentic taste that’s not overly sweet. Highly recommend for chai lovers looking for a cozy, guilt-free option!

I just love this Orca Spiced Sugar Free chai. It is the most delicious recipe on the market and blends easily and well. In fact, all brands of pods taste odd in comparison. The only recipe that is this good is Trader Joes which believe it or not is 240 calories per cup! Unfortunately, sugar free chai is hard to find and so it is way overpriced. I keep hoping that Trader Joes will begin making it sugar free and bring more competitve pricing and I research (and will keep researching) this each time before I reorder, but in the meantime, I am really glad to have this brand. I am hooked on my nightly cup of chai and would weigh a ton if I did that with non-sugar-free chai!

As someone who doesn't drink coffee, sometimes you just need an alternative to black or green tea. David Rio Orca Spice Sugar-free Chai is a great way to get a Chai Latte taste, without 200 calories and $4 at the coffee shop. It doesn't taste quite as delicious and creamy as a real chair latte, but at 60 calories per serving, it's hard to beat. Sometimes I use less of the powder in my drink if I want something lighter, or more of it + creamer if I want something a little richer. I usually make my drink with hot water, but of course you could use milk and a frother if you wanted it to be closer to the real experience. I reorder this product every few months. (How about a Subscribe and Save option, Amazon?!) I've also tried the Sugar-free Vanilla version (Flamingo Vanilla), trying to approximate the Dunkin' Donuts Vanilla Chai Latte.... I can't taste the vanilla at all, it doesn't have any caffeine, and it doesn't come in a 3lb bag, so I'm sticking with Orca Spice.

I bought a Keurig single serve coffee machine this past holiday season. It sent me down a rabbit hole of discovery both through all of the offerings through k-cups AND through testing out all sorts of alternative products that primarily use it as a quick hot water maker. Testing out the premade k-cups also took me down the testing out different coffees that I could use in Eko-Brew "make your own." As a diabetic, I'm constantly looking for things that satisfy me without messing up my diet and/or my budget. I bought David Rio's Orca Spice Chai Mix and his Flamingo Vanilla Chai Mix -- both decaffeinated and sugar free, and completely unavailable locally in any brand. These nearly 12 oz containers are priced right for single servings, taste great, and are a nice addition to my supply of coffees, teas, hot chocolates, etc. They certainly are priced better than k-cups and frankly, because one determines how much to use, can be made to preferences of strength. Some will not like the sucralose as sweetener, it doesn't bother me. I will never claim that a premade chai mix such as these is the same as making chai from scratch; however, it's a nice addition to my daily choices. I accept the trade-offs between premade mixes and from scratch . . .depending on my time and energy, I can choose which way to go. I've learned to not compare instant to the "real deal" -- does it stand on its own merits as being tasty? And these do and I'll consider ordering the 3 lb bags if I use these up quickly.

If you're diabetic, it's probably a good idea to steer clear. This has been my favorite chai mix for a long time. I read the ingredients and the nutrition label, and I should have known better, but it was so good I just kept drinking it. And then I got a continuous glucose monitor. I've been trucking along with my readings in range, until I had a cup of this stuff, and my readings went off like a rocket. It made me so sad, because I love this chai. It's very convenient, and it tastes good and has a great texture. Unfortunately, if you're watching your carbohydrate intake, this one is probably not what you're looking for. As I said, it's on the label. I was in denial about it because it's really good. I rated it three stars because even though it's sugar free, the starch it contains kind of negates that.

Wer einmal die Chai's von David Rio probiert hat, kommt oft nicht so schnell von den Produkten weg. Sie haben viele weitere Sorten jedoch war das Orangene (Tiger Spice) bis jetzt immer mein Favorit. Der lilane schmeckt so ähnlich (vielleicht sogar gleich) jedoch ist er zuckerfrei. Ob man es jetzt wirklich zuckerfrei bezeichnet kann, darüber kann man sich lange streiten. Fakt ist, fast alles ist doch "Chemie". Solange man alles "schlechte" in Maßen genießt kann.. Balance is the key. Jedenfalls vom Geschmack zu bewerten, da ich mich mit den ganzen Zucker Geschichten und nicht Zucker oder anderes Zucker nicht auskenne, muss ich sagen dass der lilane mir langsam sogar besser schmeckt. Ich mische ihn meisten mit einem TL/höchstens 1 1/2TL (das reicht (mir) nämlich bereits) in meinen Latte Macchiato. In meinem Cafe indem ich das erste mal David Rio entdeck habe, gibt es auch Frozen Chai. Das ist einfach Milch mit gecrushtes Eis und natürlich Chai Pulver. Schmeckt himmlisch! Mit Wasser habe ich es einziges mal probiert und muss ehrlich sagen, dass es mir überhaupt nicht geschmeckt hat. Weder mit der Sorte noch mit anderen. Es sollte also aufjedenfall Milch sein oder relativ neutralen Milchersatz. Ich kann es jedem nur weiter empfehlen. Wenn man sich nicht sicher ist hat man auch die Möglichkeit die einzelnen Geschmacksrichtungen in kleinen Tütchen zu kaufen, um die Sorten auszuprobieren. Bei mir bis jetzt bereits die 2. Packung von der Orca Spice und meine erste Packung von dem pinken (Elephant oder so ähnlich hieß es. Aufjedenfall auch sehr zu empfehlen.

This chai is amazing, however I just ordered ten tins and one of them was damaged, not sure if it was during shipping as there was no lid on the damaged one and the chai was scattered all over the inside of the shipping box

Even though it was bit pricey it was worth every penny I mix it with my coffee in the morning and some almond milk and it made my coffee experience so much better as I was tired of just having black coffee on its own. Definitely recommend.
