My CIEMs came back to life!
Ok, I'm not one who usually takes the time to do reviews, and then easily give 5 stars, unless the product meets and exceeds expectations. This Jodi-Vac did. I have some awesome custom in-ear monitors (64 Audio A6s) that I regularly try to keep clean using the little cleaning tool that comes with the CIEMs. Yet, after a year or so, the volume of my left ear monitor all of a sudden became noticeably low and all high-mids and treble were almost non-existent. I knew it had to be some little piece of wax here or there that was the culprit. Bless its little heart, the fragile cleaning tool that comes with the CIEMs just doesn't cut it, and its wire loop is not half as long as it needs to be in order to be usefully effective. 64 Audio (a truly awesome company) also sells these Jodi-Vacs from their website, although Amazon's price was cheaper and shipping here was free. I also received my Jodi-Vac several days earlier than estimated, and the moment it arrived, I immediately went to work on my in-ears. Simple to operate and yes, there is adequate vacuum. After 15 minutes, I put the CIEMs back into my ears and played the same reference track to do a before-and-after comparison. It was like my in-ears came back to life, beautiful balance and true stereo, and all was restored in my left in-ear monitor, and likely some in my right, too. They just needed a decent cleaning. Yes! Needless to say, I am a very satisfied customer and happy with this product.

This unit does a very good job.
Bought this Jodi Vac to replace one 8 or 10 years old that had a split vacuum hose, not replaceable and much too stiff. The new "blue" hose on this new one is much more flexible and allows for easier handling. This unit works very well. It has adequate vacuum for the job and helps keep the hearing aids clean. The new one runs on 12v with a supplied power brick, and is much more quiet than the old one. That's a plus. All of the old instruments - the clear wax filter assemblies and the needle tips work on this unit, even though the newer ones look a bit different. That's also a plus. The only negative I can think of is that the original unit came in a very nice soft carrying case, which I am using for the new unit. Jodi Vac should offer this as an option for new purchasers. With a little $20 USB microscope, you can view the inside of the hearing aid receiver and tell when it is clean. Having both the Jodi Vac and the microscope you save many trips to the audiologist for cleaning.

Had no idea how useful this was going to be
I was a little skeptical but have been pleasantly surprised but the ease in which I can keep my hearing aids totally clean and performing at their peak. The Jodi-Vac system works very well. I use far fewer wax traps and the flaky, dry skin is easily removed from the microphone cage. My Phonak hearing aids now perform as good as day one! Jodi-Vac packaging and the perception of quality of the components leaves much to be desired but the price is right and I have used it for 2 months with no issues.

This hearing aid vacuum cleaner is a life-saver!!!
I purchased this Jodi-Vac Consumer Hearing Aid Vacuum cleaner because my hearing aid was inoperable the day before Thanksgiving and my audiologist was closed until December 1. Now, I wasn't expecting a miracle from my audiologist, as my experience with the audiologist is that they can never really get them working quite the same - the hearing aid always "needs to be sent in" - especially if it is under warranty. In fact, I found a hearing aid dispenser open on Wednesday, and asked them if they could clean the hearing aid for me. They tried, but it didn't work for some reason. So I had a hunch after that, and decided to order the day before Thanksgiving, and it arrived today, the day after Thanksgiving. I opened the box, plugged in the vacuum, screwed on the vacuum head, which is like a needle, and I went to work on the hearing aid. The audiologist usually tries to vacuum for a minute or two, and that's it. I vacuumed far longer - about ten minutes, mostly in the sound port, and a little bit on the microphone end. I wasn't expecting anything when I turned on the hearing aid. Well, not only was the hearing aid operable, it was as if it were brand new. So the hey is to keep at it. Some of that hearing aid wax can be stubborn, so you have to be a little stubborn as well. I'm just going to make sure that I vacuum the hearing aid regularly from now on. I'd like to thank Jodi-Vac for making this great tool available to the consumer. It's absolutely a life-saver for me.

Overpriced, anemic vacuum
I've been using this unit for a bit over one year. Although it does suck in ear wax from hearing aid receivers (speakers in the ear canal) and the rubber dome receiver protectors, the vacuum is far too weak to pull wax from the tiny microphone openings in the body of the hearing aids. Unfortunately that is where such a device is really needed, to avoid sticking tiny needles, etc into the microphone holes and risking further impacting the ear wax, or worse, damaging the microphones. I will probably either find a larger replacement vacuum pump to fit into the black case or adapt the hose and filter to fit onto my hvac vacuum pump. I might need to be careful in the latter case not to suck the guts out of my hearing aids. It is what it is, better than nothing, worth three stars.
