The mending yarn was easy to double up and make the repairs needed.

My daughter wears through these slipper socks so fast. This will really strengthen that area.

I am British, and find it almost impossible to buy what we call 'darning wool' At last, on amazon.com I found these. The thread is rather thin, but does the job.

I have a young cat with a bad habit of chewing holes in my merino socks the minute my back is turned. Too nice and expensive to toss I am forced to repair the damage. These wool cards are just what i needed but had to do a general internet search and buy some additional cards off Amazon because of the limited range of colors offered here. Time to restock people!

One of the amazing things about his availability of product. We spent the whole day scouring around our area of Cape Cod looking for darning thread and nobody had any. This is a fine product and we are very grateful that we can get it.

I bought some of this thread and knit it into the heels of my socks (held double with a Regia fingering weight yarn). The heels partially felted after one wear. Can’t decide if I should bother using the other ones I bought. I don’t recommend.

So as I practice on a couple of pairs of his socks, I can perhaps extend the visual life of his socks… even though he wears them with the holes. That has given me the opportunity to learn a seemingly lost art!
