Zep premium carpet shampoo is a hidden gem . With kids and pets constantly tracking up my carpets I was searching Amazon for a quality cleaner in a larger size with cost savings .. And while very familiar with the Zep brand and quality in a commercial industrial setting I had never used their products in my home until I saw it on Amazon and knew if it was true to the Zep reputation in the commercial field it would excel in my home as well. And wow I was definitely impressed ! This product outperformed every big name carpet cleaner I had used in the past in my homeowner model carpet cleaner ! Little to no smell other than the smell of a good cleaner , some products on market do a crappy job but leave a pleasant floral smell .. this product is about doing exactly what you bought it for cleaning your carpets to the highest level giving professional results for the average homeowner with heavy traffic carpets. It has removed everything it faced on my carpets dirty boot tracks muddy paws and occasional animal accidents it has not failed once against any stain I have used it against. While compared to easily available big box carpet shampoo this in my machine seemed noticeably more foamy / soapier which made this product an excellent value imho having completed the carpet cleaning the first time rather than multiple cleaning to remove the same dirt / stains. I have a Hoover Smartwash machine and this solution has been an excellent alternative to the more expensive Hoover solutions. I usually have to wait for Hoover products to go on sale to do my house deep cleaning - I have 2 indoor cats and 2 dogs, and multiple rugs, so there are a lot of fabric surfaces that need to be shampooed fairly often. When I rescued my 2nd dog a few years ago she was not house trained and peed on all my hardwood floors. At that time I used a lot of Zep floor cleaner (I forgot which one) to get the urine smell out - it was the only brand that worked after trying ~5 other popular and recommended brands made specifically for dog urine (including Nature's Miracle, which did not touch it at all)... So when I noticed Zep also had a shampoo machine solution I knew I had to try it. Bonus points for being less expensive than the Hoover solutions I've been waiting around to go on sale. So far I've used it on the seats of my car, my couch, and my living room rug and I LOVE IT. I didn't think my car seats were very dirty looking to begin with and mostly just wanted them to smell fresher but to my surprise this solution pulled up a lot of grime and made turned the water brown - I had to go over each seat multiple times, it pulled up so much yuck out of them! Guess they were worse than I thought! My couch had never been shampooed but always has a cover on it that I wash every week and I didn't think it would be that bad either, but same thing - had to go over it multiple times because the brown water just kept coming! It smells significantly better now, and was all dry by the next day. I only remembered to take pictures while doing my living room rug, but you can see how gross the water gets (A.K A. how well this solution works). My car seats and couch were the same way. I've only done one pass on the rug and it already stopped smelling "doggy". The smell left by this solution isn't overpowering or super perfumey, which I also appreciate. I purchased the 128 ounce bottle and after using it on my rug/car/couch I have about half the bottle of solution left, so a little goes a long way. I'm actually excited to see how much grime I can get out of my SO's car seats next!

I do not normally write reviews, but I cannot believe how well this worked! I had no idea how disgusting my rugs were. I usually use the Shark brand carpet cleaner because I like the smell, however I thought I’d try something different. Not only is this affordable, the smell is pleasant and not long lasting-it actually cleans! No weird residue, rugs look and feel great! Will be using this going forward.

I have a Chiuhuahua and we all know the issue. This shampoo is by far the best carpet cleaning solution I have used. I have a bissell carpet cleaner (my third one) and this stuff works great in it. If you have pets and they like to mess in the house this stuff will get rid of it fast and it is low fume but smells good. I also use the Zep pet stain remover to pretreat before using this shampoo.

Works great for removing both staining and urine odor. Left the carpets soft to the touch. And everything smells clean again. I've cleaned carpets professionally for 10 plus years and zep is a well know and touched brand which is why I chose it for my home carpets .. will buy again
