Not an overnight cure, but a cure nonetheless
Don't go in expecting a miracle overnight fix. For some people, it's true that it makes immediate, obvious progress. For others, like me, it's more gradual - BUT, that doesn't mean it isn't helping! It is incredibly helpful for me where other things were not, and I absolutely recommend it. I'm someone who does a lot with their hands. I do digital art, I cross stitch, I play piano, I play video games, I use my computer for hours every day. Unfortunately, around October of last year, I incurred a bad wrist injury after pushing myself too hard. After seeing a doctor, the diagnosis turned out to be medial epicondylitis (a type of tendinosis colloquially known as 'golfer's elbow', as opposed to the more common 'tennis elbow'/lateral epicondylitis). I tried a lot of things - most wrist exercises seemed to help very little or even aggravate the injury, splints didn't seem to achieve much, and while icing my wrist seemed to help, it wasn't always practical, especially in the middle of Winter. I was having trouble using my drawing tablet for even ten minutes or playing my 3DS for an hour without residual pain for days. I got the Light flexbar (the red one) back in July of this year, and while it hasn't been the drastic overnight change some experience, it has definitely made a world of difference for my injury. I started off doing 5 Tyler Twists twice a day, then added in the reverse Tyler Twist after a week or so. Now I'm up to 10 three times a day, if I can remember to. I try to do it before and/or after starting an activity that I know can agitate my wrist. Even just doing a few after the fact is usually enough to mitigate all or almost all of the pain. Now I can draw for hours and experience very few side effects compared to before. I can feel the difference it's made in my wrist, just flexing it I can tell that the muscles have built up strength. No more elbow twinges, no more pain in my wrist tendons. I feel like I'm slowly getting back every single hobby I'd given up on for months. If you've struggled with tendonitis/tendinosis and are having trouble finding something that works, absolutely give this a try. Start out slow and work your way up. Make sure you're doing the right exercise for the right injury (Tyler Twist for tennis elbow, Reverse Tyler Twist for golfer's elbow, though I do both the reverse twist is definitely more beneficial to me). Watch Youtube videos to make sure you have the right technique. Be patient and give it a few weeks if you're having trouble seeing progress at first.

This skeptic had good results
Generally, I have my doubts about things like this being just gimmicks, but I had been suffering with pretty severe tennis elbow from March 1 til mid-July when I thought, what the heck, let me give it a try. I had already done exercises and taken medication prescribed by my orthopedic, and with that failing, had about 5 sessions of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture, with only a bit of relief. If this Flexbar didn't work I figured my dog would enjoy chewing it. I received it 7/15, and I began using it that evening. It hurt a bit, but I figured that would be the case, so I kept up with it. I definintely agree with others who say check out the instruction videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2QQaVfeI4U) and (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we4UoiKG3Co) were the best two. To my surprise, by the end of the second day, I already felt better. Basic things I couldn't do without pain I could now do with little to no pain (e.g., squeezing a tube of toothpaste, pulling my wallet out of my back pocket). I kept up religiously with the routine daily, and by the end of July, I could do some things like hitting golf balls with only mild discomfort - as opposed to pain. The discomfort did not increase by swinging the club, nor did it get worse later. I am still experiencing a little discomfort, and it got a bit worse two nights ago after using my weedeater for about 45 minutes. However, I am back to where I was before the weedeater, and I am ecstatic with the results so far. I didn't bother going back to the PT that my doctor referred me to after one visit because of the results I was having with the Flexbar. I progressed in golf from a week of doing nothing just chipping and putting, then a week of those plus some easy wedges, and this past week I played first a 9-hole round and then an 18-hole round. I wore a brace on my forearm as a further preventive measure. But I am happy to report that in each of those steps, the only discomfort I felt didn't increase by swinging the club. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being sharp pain on the outside of the elbow, I went from a 9 to about a 2 using the Flexbar. I am cautiously optimistic that I will continue on to become fully healed, but that may not happen until I put the clubs and the weedeater up this winter. I definitely recommend anyone with tennis or golfer's elbow try this inexpensive product out.

Desperate for pain relief - day 3
It's Monday morning and this came to me Friday night (so Friday I only got to use it once before bed). I used it Saturday 3 times and Sunday 3 times. I was feeling desperate because this aching tennis elbow has lasted for months now. I got mine when I had to do a repetitive motion using my mouse and keyboard 22,000 times in the span of 3 days. Killed me ever since. It was invading my sleep - I'd wake up aching. Turning over in bed, I'd wince at the pain of having to lift my arm. Couldn't lift my coffee cup. Really didn't want a cortisone shot - I'm a scaredy cat :( So I looked online for remedies. I found an article that talked about the Theraband Flexbar and I read the reviews. It's cheap enough to be considered a "wth, I'll go for it" purchase. The instructions online on YouTube were helpful. I started the exercises and the first couple hurt - but it's one of those good hurts, like when you stretch a back that's in pain. As you do the exercises, it starts feeling better. The last 2 mornings, I've woken up realizing I got a good night's sleep. I can lift my coffee cup again. It's still sore, but not as bad. Now one thing I want to mention is what I did. I did the usual twist exercise as the video and instructions tell you to (I did 15 reps 3 times a day). I also do it whenever my arm aches because after the first one, it feels better. I also found one video from a doctor who said to find the most tender spot on your elbow and rub it vigorously horizontally, not vertically down the length of your arm. So I did that. He said it helps improve circulation to the spot and heal the inflammation. So I do that. What you're looking for, he said, is for it to hurt for half a minute and then go numb. If you get that numb/feel better feeling, then it's working. If not, don't do it. I have that, so I do it every time I do my exercises, afterwards. I also found another exercise to strengthen my arm using the Flexbar. You hold the end of the bar with the majority of it sticking upright. Then extend your arm and just wiggle the bar back and forth front-ways and then side-ways. It also hurts a bit, but you can put your other arm on the affected one and feel how it's using those muscles. I don't do this as often. Really pleased with this. Even if it didn't improve anymore than where it's at now, I'd be happy. But I can only see it getting stronger and less painful the more I do it. I'll report back after a couple of weeks. UPDATE: It's now been a couple of weeks. My arm is great! It is a teeny tiny bit sore, but I use this Flexbar all throughout the day - just 1-2 twists anytime it starts to hurt (probably 6 twists total every day). I made a video now to help show you what I learned about using it. What helps. Basically, I keep it by my bed to twist 1-2 times when I wake up. I keep it on my desk to twist if I'm every busy doing lots of keyboard to mouse stuff and it gets sore. I even take it in my car because if I'm running tons of errands and it ever gets achy or stiff, I do 1-2 twists at the stop light and I'm good to go! Really happy I found a solution without having to get cortisone shots. I'll probably order the next levels of resistance soon.

Works better than I thought it would
I was talking to a guy at the gym one day about my tennis elbow from shoveling snow, and he highly recommended the FlexBar. You'll notice that when you order it, there are actually 6 colors. Each color has a different level of resistance: Level 1 - Beginner to level 3-Advanced = Yellow-Red-Green-Blue-Black-Gray. When my red flexbar arrived, my first response was that it was too easy, and wished I'd known to buy one of the more advanced colors. But as I used it, I realized that the red is actually a good level. Not because it's difficult or anything, but because when my forearm/upper elbow hurts, the red does a good job of working it out. Also, if there was more resistance, it would probably increase the pain, thus defeating the purpose of the bar. It appears to be made of a hard rubber. It won't break, hasn't cracked or anything on me yet (just keep it away from pets), and the ridges help with the grip. The exercises aren't difficult, but I find they do a good job at warming up my arms before lifting, working out the pain after lifting, and actually building up my wrists and forearm some. I'll do a few sets of 10-20 while watching TV, movies on my tablet, or even sometimes I'll crank out a few reps while sitting at red lights in the car. I would totally recommend this to anybody with tennis/golfer's elbow or upper-forearm pain.

Amazing relief after 2-1/2 weeks!
I began using the Thera brand flex bar 2-1/2 weeks ago for my significant elbow tendonitis which I've had for about 6 months. I received one cortisone injection but no further care instruction or physical therapy referral and the benefit of the cortisone lasted 2 months. During my research for additional home treatment and exercises, I came across many exercises and recommendations for the TheraBrand Flexbar. As a nurse, I was skeptical at first but after further research which revealed reliable support from orthopedists and other valid medical sites, I thought I'd give it a try. I am very pleasantly surprised and happy to report that in just 2-1/2 weeks I definitely feel a marked improvement in elbow strength and a pain reduction of about 50%. My pain level had become increased and chronic, any activity or picking up anything produced increased pain, and the pain was awakening me from sleep. The arm is stronger, I can now actually pick up objects with minimal discomfort, am not being awakened from sleep, and, as I mentioned, the pain level has significantly reduced by about 50%. I am following the instructions and performing the exercises 3 times per day with the recommended repetitions. Additionally I have also purchased the Ekaal Elastic Elbow Support Sleeve by Jasnew (Amazon Prime), a product I also recommend for aiding healing and providing the necessary support and comfort during activities. So far, I feel the TheraBand FlexBar is remarkable and will prevent the necessity of further cortisone injections and formal physical therapy and highly recommend this product.

Better than $1,000 of Physical Therapy
I have tendonitis in my right arm (tennis elbow) from a particularly stressful time working at the computer. Went to a physical therapist for 2 months for over a thousand dollars with no real effect only to be told at the end that I may just want to use my computer mouse with my left hand. Bought this a couple months later and within a couple weeks of using it 10 min a day while I'm watching TV, it has dramatically improved my elbow. It won't fix it completely (maybe if I was more consistent about using it) but the pain is maybe 70% duller, which is good enough for me to be able to sleep. In terms of price for performance this is a no-brainer if you have tendonitis.
