This listing is an 18x18 in. and is a depiction of a masked figure pulling on his own heartstrings. It was created using ebony pencil for the grey areas, which is great for bringing out rich darks. Red, pink, and yellow Prismacolor colored pencils were used for the heart and blood. These colored pencils are amazing for the amount of pigment that can be layered upon the paper and for the smoothness of the application. All of this was done on white, acid free, heavy weight and sturdy 80 lb paper. This piece is something I have been wanting to create for about five years, and I am very excited to have brought that idea to fruition. It represents how we are more responsible for our emotions than we realize, and that in many cases we create our own pain without realizing it.
