ZVac Compatible / Replacement for Dyson Dc17 911236-01 Generic Washable Pre-filter Assembly Part# 911236-01, White

Purchased the Dyson 3 years ago and am impressed with the vacuum. We had been through several Dirt Devils and Hoovers before. While the promise of "never losing suction" holds, it did get noticeably weaker over a few weeks. I checked the filter and it was completely coated with loose dog hair and dirt. I rinsed it as directed but then had to wait several days for it to dry. I vacuum nearly every day with a dog and small kids so this didn't work. I bought this filter (much less expensive than other sites!) and now can rotate them.

Purchased this as a second filter that I could alternate with the original. Mainly because the original filter takes 3 days to air dry. Have not noticed any difference in cleaning power between the 2 filters. This one does fit a little tight. I have placed them side by side and I could not see any noticeable differences. Could be because it is a new filter, hoping over time it will loosen up. So far it is doing a good job.

This filter works fine in our Dyson DC17. The materials seem to be a little more cheaply made than the original, and we seem to need to empty it (bang out the dust) more often. We haven't washed it yet, I am hoping i will hold up. All in all, it is a good lower-cost alternative to the OEM Dyson filter.

I have to say I was a little hesitant to purchase this since it was not Dyson brand. I was worried it wouldn't fit right or the vacuum wouldn't have as good of suction as it did with the Dyson filter. I'm happy to report the fit was great and my vacuum works so much better with a new filter, the price was right and I will be purchasing this filter the next time I need a replacement.

Item was well made and seemed to be exactly what i needed. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size! I didn't return it but traded with a friend. I will continue to use the vender as the products offered arrived quickly and in good shape. This was my fault for wrong size.

I bought this because when I cleaned my filter the door just didn't want to close right again so thought I needed a new filter. This one seems alot stiffer and less flexible than the original and although it does fit, the door closes even worse than before. Contacted dyson and they sent me a new door but still doesn't close right. Guess I just have to clean it more often

I should warn that using any filter during multiple times vacuuming is NOT a good idea. A clogged filter really cuts down on the performance of the DC-17. Perfect replacement and cheaper than the one sold by Dyson. Easy to hose off and dry at my leisure while using the other one. This is a very easy filter to forget.

The product was a good fit with no modifications needed, since I've only had the part installed a few days so far with no problems I'll take the wait and see approch. I would have prefered a genuine Dyson part.
