What input resolutions does this unit accept and output?

I tested on my 1080p monitor and it worked well.

what is this used for?

this is used to create scanlines on a TV/Monitor with hdmi in puts. just like the old CRT TVs of the 90s and earlier. its primarily used for retro gaming. I used it for a retropie build and it worked amazingly. since the pi isnt a power house it was easier to use this instead of a filter that take processing power away from the pi.

Can you adjust the thickness of the lines or is it only a toggle between two settings?

Sadly you can't fully customize them I wish you could you could only choose from about two types of thicknesses and then you can also invert which lines are shaded in
