great thermometer!!!!!
I have 7 children from ages 13 to 6 months so I needed a versatile and acurate thermometer. I did read the reviews here but decided to go ahead and purchase the Temperature Check 4-in-1 Digital Infrared thermometer anyway, esp with the price being fairly low. I figured if it was a dud then I wouldn't be out a bunch of money anyway. I was quite surprised to find that it was a great buy! I don't know why the negative reviews. As a mom of many young children, I have been through a ton of thermometers, so when I find a good one that really works for me I tell everyone. I did not have any problems getting an accurate reading (temporal or tympanic), so this thermometer was very useful to me!!! The fact that it is a temporal and a tympanic thermometer is great. I can check on a sick toddler or baby without waking him up with the temporal (forehead) feature. Then I am able to use the tympanic (ear) feature for the oldes children and adults or just use the temporal feature. In my not so humble opinion both are just as acurate. I also fins the military time it keeps a great plus as a mom who may have a housefull of sick children I use military time (instead of using AM and PM which may start to look the same when I am in a hurry) keeping track of the time I gave meds and took temps to which child. I also though it was big plus to have the room temperature as well. The only thing I would add to it would be to have a backlight, so that I could see the temperature in the dark while checking on a sick child. But it is terrific the way it is, esp for the price. So the "Temperature Check 4-in-1 Digital Infrared thermomter" in my opinion is a great thermometer and is definately highly recommended by this mom of 7!!

Not accurate
Did not find it to be near as accurate as claimed. Ear temp varied up to 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Forehead temp up to 3 degrees less than ear and varied up to 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Got temps between 95.5 on forehead to 101 in ear at same time period. Not good!!!

Inconsistent
I purchased this thermometer on the premise that it would take an accurate temperature of my son faster than a conventional digital thermometer and would be easier to use while he slept. While the product has proven itself quite easy to use, it has been basically useless to me because it never registers the same temperature twice. The temperature this thermometer displays can range wildly over the course of just a minute and frequently displays a normal temperature reading when my son is burning up and obviously has a fever. This thermometer has complicated the diagnosis of my son's well-being and I am left "hoping" that I am getting an accurate temperature instead of having the peace of mind a thermometer should offer when obtaining a true and consistent reading. I suggest making a different choice of thermometer for your family.

Good, not best.
I lost the paperwork so I get it stuck on Celsius sometimes and can't get it back to Fahrenheit. Had it over a year no problems otherwise. The forehead reading doesn't seem to be accurate but the ear method is usually correct. Needs a back light for easier to read results. No more than I need this product - it does the job.

Finally a digital thermometer that works!
My wife and I went through many different digital thermometers, and none of them seemed to work... Oral, ear, forehead, it didn't seem to matter which they just never gave consistent readings and every time we would call our doctor to tell them our child was ill he would ask what was their temperature and we really couldn't tell him. Now we get a consistent reading that is as accurate as the readings we get from the doctor's office. My only complaint (and it is small) is that the forehead temperature reader doesn't work that well, which is fine because the ear temperature can be taken very quickly, less than a second, so there is no need to use the forehead reader.

Very nice
This thermometer is a great tool if you have a small baby, because it's hard enough to keep baby calmed 5 minutes to measure temperature with a regular thermometer. The readings are quite correct, especially the "ear measuring" mode. Forehead measuring is more correct if you put the thermometer on the forehead and keep the measurement button pressed for 3-4 seconds and then release it. In such way the readings are correct.

Easy and accurate
This is one of the really versatile digital thermometers. You can get accurate reading from several sources. If you are unable to get an accurate reading with this unit, you should turn the task over to someone else. It's that simple to use. It does take a moment to set up for degrees F when you first get it.

I am dying of fever and didn't even know it!
According to this thermometer, I have a temperature that ranges between 102.3 and 103.6 when taken via ear. If I take my temperature via forehead it says my temperature ranges between 99 and 100. I am pretty sure this is inaccurate. This is a small, cheaply made thermometer with instructions written in very poor English. It claims to be 4-in-1, which it is because it is always running so it is always reading the temperature around it. Switching between modes like ambient temperature and the clock are nearly impossible. (Why do you need a clock on your thermometer anyway?) I bought 2 of these so that I could have one on hand in both bathrooms. I have only opened one, but I will be returning the other one. I will be paying a few more dollars to purchase a thermometer that actually works.
