I have these devices and the support from their contact team is excellent. If you call them. If your kids are going backpacking buy them one and make them carry and use it 24/7. There are simple use rules as you are sending messages to a satellite and not a mobile phone mast 200m away. Read the manual and ask contact centre if your stuck but the added safety is outstanding.It says battery life 30 mins. It depends on battery you use but maybe it should say 30 days. I have always had at very least 21 days easily but again depends on batteries.

Unable to register device on their website, due to the system not accepting European credit cards. Screen “froze” after attempting authorisation. Tried over 20 times with various cards to no avail; US customer services were friendly, but about as effective as a chocolate teapot!Lost the will to live and surrendered. Sent unit back for a refund, which I shall spend on wild women and whisky! Suggest, probably wise not to purchase, especially if you reside in the UK, as unit not fit for purpose.

Unlike the other reviewer I had absolutely no issues activating my unit.I understand if you are in the US trying to register with a European credit card you may have an issue according to Globalstar Customer service. I was concerned about the review so I checked with customer service before making my purchase..In my case the activation process was very simple and quick. You will need the serial number found inside the battery case before registering online.Very happy with this unit. I will be taking this with me on my travels this summer so that I can send my live GPS positions via satellite to my family and to raise an SOS alert and full scale rescue if I run into trouble.

When I bought the product I knew that it needs to be activated etc. and around 100€ in fees will be due. Unfortunately, I was still not able to activate it as the website alsways adds a Overwatch &Rescue Plan which I do not want. It cannot be deleted and I do not want to pay 30€ for something that I do not need. There is no way to write a mail to customer service and only a few countries receive support via phone…Right now it is not useful to me…

Se puede contratar el servicio con cualquier tarjeta de débito o crédito. Funciona perfectamente y se configura de forma sencilla.Ojo el precio de los servicios es sin IVA.

Ottimo prodotto.Le batterie stanno durando parecchio.Qualche miglioria...Non ho trovato il manuale d'uso completo in Italiano ma solo il manuale rapido.Nella confezione andrebbe comodo un cacciavite a portachiavi per aprire il vano batterie visto che per aggiornare i messaggi devo inserire il cavo che è sotto.Non ho provato a condividere ad altri non utenti ma è un' ottima funzione che devo sfruttare.Stò imparando ancora ad usarlo perciò qualcosa potrebbe essermi sfuggito.
