Arrived next day , emergency purchase , elderly relative had become ill and eased the problem , no need to worry . It is difficult when this becomes necessary but this mattress protector is excellent . Fits well , no slippage on corners as sometimes happens with sheets .

Quite thin and waterproof one side like a sheet material on the top part that goes on the mattress but the same fabric not two separate ones, well it feels like it anyway, it was cheap but better than Terry towelling in this heat

Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector small double. They fit well and don't usually ride up during the night. They are soft and quiet as advertised. So far they have washed well. They are only water resistant, not water proof, but unless we get my dad the type of heavy duty, sweat inducing, plastic covered mattress they use in hospitals, I doubt I will find anything truly waterproof. I would recommend using a machine washable pad which helps to absorb any spills and seems to work well with these. Because of the cost, the fit, the quietness and the comfort I recommend these, but have removed a star as they are not waterproof.
