Works beautifully
As noted under my review of the fork of this same brand, I purchased this spoon to ease my Marine dad's nerve damage to Agent Orange. The tremors/shaking had begun making meals a stress for him. The spoon, like the fork, is longer than our regular utensils and--obviously, heavier. The combination makes them successful at toning down his hand movements to where he smiled outright when he 'took them for a test drive' last night for dinner. He liked how they looked good, not like some plastic monstrosity. I will definitely be getting him more of these, as well as expanding to the soup and knife. I also picked up the 'Lily's Home Unbreakable Highball Glasses' set of four to go with this set as they are plastic 'glasses' that really look like glass but avoid his concern about accidentally breaking them. (We'll hand wash them to keep them scratch-free.) Depending on your level of shaking, these utensils might really help you, too. No, they don't magically eliminate all movement, but they tone it down to where he can eat without all the stress. I am really grateful to the makers and sellers of this set--our Marine smiled.

He was resistant in the past when I asked him if he would like a specialized spoon or fork
I purchased this for my Dad who has Parkinson's. He said it does make it easier for him to eat and he likes it. He was resistant in the past when I asked him if he would like a specialized spoon or fork, but this one looks pretty close to the silverware everyone else at the table is using and I think that was a plus for him. I would definitely recommend this to other. It feels well made and appears to be good quality. Most importantly, it allowed my Dad to hold his utensil more comfortably and naturally for easier eating.

Wonderful with Parkinson's clients in Occupational Therapy!!!
My client LOVES this spoon! I also ordered her the fork. She has Parkinson's and hated the traditional weighted spoon and fork due to its looks and that to use it you have to use a gross grasp. With these weighted utensils you are able to use them "properly" and they look like "normal" utensils! That is very important to my client as she lives in assisted living and eats with others in the dining room. Occupational Therapists everywhere will love these weighted utensils !!!

I am an OT and recommend this to my patients who want a weighted spoon ...
Attractive and effective for people with tremors. I am an OT and recommend this to my patients who want a weighted spoon that is still attractive and looks like normal silverware

Very Helpful
My uncle with Parkinsons absolutely loves this! He hadn't wanted to do anything extra for a long time, but he has really appreciated using this. It's helped him a lot.

It works!!
I ordered these for my brother. His hand shakes every time he eats when he uses a regular spoon so his food barely make it to his mouth. These spoons helps him to eat more comfortablely and he can actually eat without the food spilling off of his spoon.

A Blessing!
This spoon was bought for my dad who has essential tremors. It works great. It provides enough weight that the food does not shake off his spoon before getting to his mouth. He said he loves it! He said it allows him freedom to eat without getting the food all over him and he might actually eat out more often because he is going to take the spoon with him!

Helps hand tremors!!!
This spoon was a gift for my brother along with the fork and knife to match. His hand tremors are much steadier due to the weight of these utensils and he is now much more able to feed himself. I am thankful to have found these products on Amazon!!!
