Excellent Resources
Method Meets Art has always been a go-to resource for learning about inter-disciplinary and mutli-genre arts-based research. Dr. Leavy has approached a complex and much discussed research philosophy and practice in a clear and understandable fashion. It is both an excellent introduction for beginners in ABR as well as a much referenced resource for more experienced researchers. So happy to see a third edition building on the success of the previous ones. Thank you!

Method Meets Art, 3rd Edition is an amazing and well needed text!
The field of Arts-Based Research has burgeoned over the last few decades and the third edition of Method Meets Art is a testament to the diverse and creative ways arts-based research has made a huge impact so many fields. Leavy’s work continues to be a beacon to artists, scholars, researchers and educators who bring the creative to the forefront in what it means to bring all of the arts to the research process. This third edition continues to update the cutting edge scholarship within Arts-Based Research and at the same time addresses needed areas; including evaluation criteria and addressing the challenges and benefits of engaging in ABR.I so appreciate the scope and abundance of areas being addressed which highlight the breadth and depth of poetic, narrative, embodied forms of inquiry along with a thorough connection to the visual and performing arts. Method Meets Art is a spectacular text for all students wanting to explore arts-based research methodologies within research and scholarship and I commend its significant contribution as a foundational book for all those exploring ABR. This is a book one will return to again and again.Dr. Celeste SnowberProfessor, Simon Fraser UniversityAuthor of Embodied inquiry: Writing, living and being through the body

Imagination and curiosity survive
What is thought provoking and stays with the reader is the multi disciplinary approach to research. In addition, Leavy gives us a look at arts based approaches to research including poetry, music, dance, the visual arts and story telling. She is a fine and elegant writer and this third edition builds on the previous editions. This would be great for research methods courses, social science research courses and courses in the arts and their translation into real world research projects. But the main thing here for me is the beauty of encouraging in readers imagination, curiosity, and the growth of the intellect. I definitely recommend this book for qualitative research methods courses.

Anchor of the field
Keeping her pioneering work and leadership in qualitative methods up to date, Patricia Leavy has in this new edition expanded her pragmatic discourse on problems of reasoning and representation in arts-based research. Truly required reading for all who would teach or do independent research in the field, including all of the social sciences and the arts.
